Soooo....will 2 divisions make the I'm a Sailor calls today....or 4? We shall see!
Phones handy all day....calls may start in the next 3.5 hours!
Ok, on the Saturday Departures. He probably will know his flight times by PIR. They are all bussed out at the same time. Around 1 or 2 a.m. on Sat. So I suggest that after you drop off your sailor PIR night, you head back to the hotel and take a short nap. Get up early and get out there to wait with them. Some like to get there early and be there when the busses arrive. Others meet up with their sailors at the USO there.
Now, the USO at Ohare is before security....no problem meeting up them. The one at Midway is past security...so you need to have your sailor meet you in front of security. They won't have their cells with them, but may be able to borrow one from family members already there to call you. Or plan a time to meet them there. It is not a problem. The USO personnel are wonderful to the sailors and families.
Ok, wait, FirstTimeNavyMom. I assume you are planning on these care packages during A School, right? I bet Lala will know the answer to that. She is very handy and crafty! I mailed no cookies (my son doesn't like them so much...crazy boy)when he was there....so not sure on the best method.
ProudNavyMom: God bless you and hope all is healthy now. Your daughter and you will have the most wonderful long embrace after PIR! Both of you have been through trials and I know she will be so happy to see you!
This is just a crazy off topic question, but I figure some of the veteran moms will know. What is the Best way to mail cookies so they don't turn into nothing but crumbs?
Awww Proud Navy Mom, you and your daughter have been through quite a time, that's amazing.... God bless you both. Looking forward to meeting you all!!
Thank you ALL... hope to meet each of you that will be at PIR :o)))
Awww thank you CLAMOM....Ive been very blessed... the experience was tough but very rewarding...and I know my SR was worried about me when she left but I told her that quitting was never an option and if she ever felt like she couldnt do it then to think of me and it would be all she needed to keep going :o))
ProudNavyMom ~ I'm sure your baby girl will recognize you from the "wonderful" smile on your face that will be "ear to ear"! Praying for a full recovery for you! remember our God is an awesome God!
@ ProudNavyMom 11 018 - Congrats on finishing the chemo...I finished mine not quite 7 years ago. Get yourself a warm hat :) she will be so excited to see you!!!
