You will need it if you want to drive onto base to return your Sailor. If you drop him off outside the gate, you won't. But remember...you need to get your Sailor back with enough time for him to walk back to his ship. Even if you are driving in, it is still quite a walk. From the gate , more so. My Sailor said he was not allowed to run or double-time it...only walk. In the Navy...on time is late. Follow your Sailors lead on liberty. Also, I suggest reading the discussion on Proper public behavior...I'll bump it up.

I think I'm gonna bring one just in case, can't hurt.  Thanks NavyMomma!!

FirsTimeNavyMom:  I messaged the RTC on their Facebook page, and they said we do NOT need gate passes if our hotel shuttle is dropping us off at the gate.  Those passes are just for those driving a car on their base.  I am assuming we drop them off at the base after liberty that day, but of course, I do not know.

Comment by FirsTimeNavyMomSh04Div20 on December 13, 2011 at 11:56am

Hi all, biting nails and waiting here.....I wonder that too, do we need the gate pass if we are going to PIR in the shuttle?  I wonder if we will need it to bring them back after liberty that evening??

Comment by CeliaSews on December 13, 2011 at 11:27am

That's $52 total, no tax.  The others are the rate + tax...it adds up.

Comment by CeliaSews on December 13, 2011 at 11:26am

Debbie - the Navy Lodge is only $52.00, but you have to book online.

You guys are all so wonderful!  I'm anxious to talk to my SR - today, hopefully! I tend to second guess everything I spend money on nowadays, and I go back in forth in my mind what I should do (the adult form of "eenie, meenie, miney moe!").  But I'll likely make the trip because I have already made a hotel reservation.

Comment by NavyMomma89 on December 13, 2011 at 10:41am

Do we need to print off a gate pass from the RTC web site if we are going to graduation on a shuttle from our hotel?

Comment by diannep on December 13, 2011 at 9:10am

NavyChief:  You have a HUGE HEART...what a wonderful offer!  I know Debbie will be so touched!

Comment by diannep on December 13, 2011 at 9:08am

Good morning, everyone.  Ok, today is THE DAY.  Yes, I feel sure that there will be I'm a Sailor calls coming in this afternoon.  From who we aren't quite sure...but time will tell.  Cells handy all day, ladies.  But calls usually start coming in around 2 pm GL time.  They can go for a while.

Please ask your SR if all in the division passed and post that here.  Some new sailors may have "watch" and not get their call in today.  Their family members would like to at least know that they have sailors!

Don't leave your phones for a minute today!  Bathroom breaks/checking mailboxes/texting have caused many to miss the calls....so keep that phone on you and available!  Let your family/friends know now that you don't want them calling or texting today.  If they/you are texting, your sailor's call if at that exact time will go straight to voicemail.  UGH!
