A totally awesome video... (Craig found this...Thank You Craig!)
Hey CLAMOM, Were you waiting at the main gates with me then? When the crowd started cheering and applauding our new Sailors as they finally marched toward us? My son was in front. He just smiled. That's when I lost a few tears. A few more from sheer, utter, joy a few moments later when Nick informed me we were going home for the weekend. (yippee!) It's real cool to come here and recognize the angst, joy, and pride so many others share with me. You're all pretty awesome.
diannep: He's not here right now to ask but did mention yesterday, by the time he got his orders and could leave, everybody in the offices were gone for the holidays so they sent them home for the weekend. I don't understand anything the government does; I'm just relaying the tidbit I picked up.
I love all your posts this weekend!! Happy to hear all the happy isn't just in our family :)
Wow! So glad that you ladies with GL A School sailors get the whole weekend with them! They USED to do that...overnights...but stopped it several months back. Glad to see that you all get the night time too! Like FTLW said, maybe because of the Christmas holidays? Would like to know that if your sailors tell you for future reference in the groups. ENJOY! Have a wonderful weekend!
Me too Shelli.....my husband was like by the we get her we will have to bring her right back!!!!
Sweet comment, Jazzymom. I waited all day for my son. Just when I was sure we would only have a couple hrs to visit, I found we get to keep him til Sunday night! Home in Iowa now, I have all my "boys" downstairs watching movies; where they belong. Big day, peaceful night.
