Does anyone remember a post somewhere on the N4M site that included information on someone who was selling blue candles?
Oh my gosh! Another mom posted this on Boot Camp Moms! flbradybunch creator of 11/18/2011 THANK YOU!
It's a news story of some of the recruits on Thanksgiving day who were adopted by a veterns of a foreign legion post.
This video does have last names in it...so please do not post exactly who you see...just that you saw your recruit if you do!
Enjoy...made me cry!
Was great to talk to my SAILOR (PIR 12/2) and my SR...My sailor was adopted by a civic group that had cell phones to use for the day so he was calling most of the day...my SR , who is ship 04 div 019, he was with his good friend and happy the whole day until he found out how much his brother got to do, LOL no he was happy for him :) It was great to talk to both of them :))) Can't wait to meet you all at PIR :))
HUGS Celia, the boys got to spend the day together and had lots of laughs.. i heard lots of stories too..they are a hoot together...
dawn in MI
I heard that Army boot camp is very lenient these days...they need the recruits. Southwest does not fly to Pensacola. They do usePanama City, but that's about a 2 1/2 hour ride from Pensacola.
Maybe someone gave him the wrong information about the recruiting office. I plan to bring his cellphone/laptop with me so that if he flies out to A School on Saturday I can give them to him. As far as airfare, Southwest flies out of Cleveland, but what about Pensacola? Or is there another airport he can get to to catch Southwest? My son in BC in the Army has already made his flight reservations - he's home from 12/17 until 1/3 in the MIDDLE of BC! Strange!
Also, Debbie. Yes, he can have cell/laptop after RTC but has to be delivered to him at the airport or once he arrives on GL A School base. Not allowed at RTC.
Debbie: Yes, I agree with Betsy. Unless things have changed, they can't get work/get credit for leave days at the recruiters office until after A School. However, things do change! But like Betsy said, during Christmas break, the office could be closed. I hope that things maybe have changed and he can get credit for the days and his recruiter's office is open. You never know! Remember, he will be under the control of his A School, not RTC, so the info will have to come from there.
Good Morning, all!
FTLW ~ Love the Happy Dances!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!! I am happy dancing down in South Georgia!!!!!!! Calls & a picture......PRICELESS :-)! Thank you to the sweet lady that let my son use her phone....bless you, bless you, bless you.... and the other two also! LOL he ran through 3 phones :-)! Talked to his girlfriend 2 hours! Bless her heart, she was walking on SUNSHINE yesterday!
Debbie ~ Speaking from past experience, please be careful with the airlines and "military discount". In the past it is cheaper to get other "real" discounts. Some airlines will tell you they have specials that are cheaper. Not sure why a "military discount" wouldn't be cheaper but....it isn't. You may want to pay a little more to get a ticket you can change date/time just in case the Navy changes things :-). If not you will pay a change fee of $100.00 or more. Just check with the airlines on all this their rules change like the weather :-)! Hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving!
Also, Debbie, some recruiting offices may even be closed during the holidays. Ours was closed for a week between Christmas and New Year's last year.
