OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Thanks NavyChief, I will check that email now. The evenings here at my house and computer time are very hard. Our desktop is not working so the whole family is sharing MY laptop lol.

I agree, Lala.  My son was there 10.5 weeks due to one week asmo and all of the Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years holidays.  He was VERY HAPPY to get off RTC...finally~

allison:  My son PIRed in Feb 2010.  I am just a N4Moms veteran on here since then to help in the PIR groups!

Just to clarify what Betsy said about cells/laptops....they are allowed once they have moved off of RTC.  They cannot be on RTC before they fly out/move over to GL A School base. So for those flying out,   you will need to meet your sailor at the airport for the exchange.  For those moving over to GL A School, you need to wait until they return to base from their first day of liberty with you...they can return to base with them then.

Yep, my daughter was in a push DIV as well, She was there less than 8 weeks total from the day she left our house and had PIR a week sooner than we had calculated when she was getting ready to leave. Less time there is always good :-)

Celia, it's amazing how the RDC's can whip them in shape in 7 weeks.

Comment by CeliaSews on November 21, 2011 at 3:07pm

According to my son's letters, this Wednesday for his div will be week 4 day 1.  Being a push division, I don't know where they push things together in order to get everything done faster.  He won't even be there a full 8 weeks by the time the 16th comes.  He arrived on Oct. 24th.

NavyChief04, once the SR's graduate from BC, they will be permitted to have cell phones and laptops.

Good morning everyone ~ From my calendar it looks like week 5! But with the Navy's not sure how they are counting it! I sure hope our son gets to enjoy a little of Thanksgiving and gets a phone call home :-)! Does anyone know for those that are staying at Great Lakes for the 2 week school if they will be allowed to get their cell phones back. It would make it so much easier to communicate with him. I did the hurry up and wait for 24 years... but this time around with my son is killing me!! lol

Thanks everyone, the scouts were found, they had to use a helicopter to find them. They were all fine and didn't need any medical treatment. The rescue worker who wrecked his 4-wheeler has a broken back. No word yet on his condition so please continue to keep him and his family in your prayers. All the rescue workers are volunteers and do a great job helping out strangers.

I spent most of the day yesterday designing the Navy themed tote/purse and Kindle/E-reader covers. They came out really cute. I know several have been asking about these for a couple of weeks and I am posting the pics to my facebook page now so if you want to see them you can look at them there.

I must dash away now lol to get some more ribbons finished and in the mail today.

This should be a good letter week for you guys YAY!!!
