Evening ladies, my daughter graduates BC on the 16th and then flies to Pensacola on the 17th.  Maybe you could help me with a couple of questions.  I've heard that she can put in for leave once she arrives.  Do we make flight resesrvations for her or is this handled on base?  Do you know what the chances are that she may be actually able to take leave?  Thanks so much for responding!!

Debbie G.  My son is a sailor and lives in barracks in the shipyard where their carrier is being worked on.  He told me that he doesn't use the microwave in the room because then it will get dirty and he will fail inspection.  HAAA!  So those inspections go on for a while...as long as they bunk on Navy bases!

Debbie G. I haven't gotten a call yet either, I know how you feel! I am trying to go with the no news is good news motto, but I would give anything to hear his voice!!

Thanks - I'm usually the "no news good news type" but with all the info floating around about the inspectors not being happy and everybody being sick, I'd just be happier with a call, even a brief one.  But he's the silent type anyway.  By the way, his A school is in Pensacola.

DebbieG, Try to remember that in BC, the motto is "No news is good news." When my son was in BC, I was beginning to think that he went missing because I hardly ever heard from him.   lol  Everyone else's division seemed to be getting phone calls a lot more often and receiving letters.  He wrote once a week, but I was very grateful to get a letter that often.  Try not to think the worst, I'm sure he is fine.

LoveMySailor!  HA!  My son had put:  Mom, brother, aunt, cousin --on his.  They get to update them 2 weeks before PIR.  I don't know if he did but we had no problem getting in (only mom and brother ended up going).  I wouldn't worry! 

DO make sure to write your SRs and tell them to use actual names, not nicknames for those attending.  If you think they may not KNOW the real name, write it to them.  They like for the name to match the ID.
