Celia: There is a difference in BOOTCAMP week #3 and TRAINING week #3. Remember, processing days last anywhere from a week to 10 days or longer. Then they have a couple to a few days between BattleStations and PIR. So although bootcamp is usually 8 weeks, only 6 of those are training weeks.
Divisions train with their brother divisions, but with only 5 divisions here, there are only 2 sets of brother divisions and then 905. They probably are a day apart in their training schedule.
YAY for letters today!
Shelli, thank you for your very sweet words. I was so very lucky to have Lala, diannep and JessicaB (where has she been, lately?, I miss her) helping me through when my son was in BC last year, that when it was my turn to pay it forward, I was more than happy. The veterans on here are phenomenal and a godsend when we need them the most. I am so grateful to them for helping me through.
My son said week 3 started on Wednesday of this week. According to the day by day discussion, Marlinspike is at the end of week 3.
Yeah...the "cruddies" and "achies" are settling in. Whew, it's rough ladies...my son got the crud...went to medical...and then got pneumonia after! He just spent the weekend SIQ with it! They are amazed at what they can do! Though if it's really holding them back, they get attention...I know asmo sounds terrible...but try to think better asmoe'd than going home. It's hard to leave your division but you are still there and the Navy wants you still...is allowing you time to heal and continue on.
I personally think (and this is just my opinion) that after Marlinspike...the divisions REALLY see that they are either a team or they are not.
I am lost as to what week you are at but will post a Marlinspike discussion for you! There is not much info on it but I'll give you what I've got!
We got a letter tonight that he wrote over the course of 4 days. He sounds pretty good. His lettter was better than that phone call last night. Maybe this was a rough week after he mailed the letter. Said he had his first cup of coffee last week!
my SR is sick too :( poor baby....
