Good morning and happy monday!  Wow we are getting closer, only 32 more days!  And the sun is shining on our SR's today.  Nice for them.  Have a wonderful day and may the mailman have something for everyone this week.

Yes, I can assure you all that the SRs have their letters now.  Like Jajajo said, they are held from the SRs for the first 2 weeks.

Good morning, everyone!

New2Navy ~ My son said the same thing that he hadnt gotten any letters.  Hopefuly, ours just crossed in the mail.  Cant wait until Thursday to see what he says about our letters.  He should have gotten over a dozen by now :-)! Where is everyone making reservations? I cant believe he is starting his 4th week! He was just a baby boot.... I know he is thinking something totally different :-)! Everyone have a blessed day!

Just wanted to say thanks again for all the great information you ladies post on this website...we booked our flight, rental car and hotel this weekend and I'm so excited I just had to share! Hope you all have a blessed week with a bunch of letters!!!

Betsy - Did your son have to report to his command first and then put in for leave there?

Comment by Jajajo on November 13, 2011 at 11:30pm
It takes about 2-3 weeks before the recruits start getting letters. They have to assign and get someone trained for the mail handling. My son said the same thing. Next time you get a letter he'll mention he received yours.

Got my first letter from my SR - but he said he hasn't gotten any mail from anyone yet?? I got the first address from the recruiter and mailed some letters, then got a slightly different one in the form letter and remailed all the letters and more.. Did anyone else's SR say they aren't getting letters!! So worried - don't want him to think we aren't writing?!?!

I am not sure Dianne, I think that may be true in most cases. And that is what I was talking about when I said "when they come home from A-school" But they may let them do it at other times depending on the circumstances. I know when my son-in-law came home right after the capping ceremony in boot camp he was here for 2 weeks and he was required to work most of that time at the recruiters office. But that was special circumstances since he sister had been killed in a car crash and that is why he came home from boot camp instead of going straight to A-school. And as we both know, it can change from one person to another and from one day to another. It seems nothing is set in stone. So to answer your question I am not 100% sure.
