Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 037 & 038

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

andysmom...so glad to hear from another Seabee mom....yes, I did get the same info.....yippppeeeee.....my SR is going to Gulfport too !!! ..It's funny I just asked him in last nites letter if anyone else from PIR 12/21 was a Seabee....we're staying at the residence inn, we're flying in on the 19th, I wanted some leeway in case of bad weather.. We're from MA , I already booked his flight home and got him on the same flight as us....doing the happy dance !!!! There are posting about military discounts for flights, I didn't know about before I booked so check those out.....I hear that they should allow plenty of time to report back to A school so keep that in mind when you book his ticket back. (I hope they let us know soon cause that is just before New Years and ticket prices will still be sky high !!!) My son listed some of his friends in his letters but said they only know last names so I can't post them...I wonder if your son is one of them...so glad for this site, I would be soooo lost without it !!!
Just got a call from our son, it was only 27 seconds but it was the BEST 27 seconds I have had in along time, Only 27 more days to go.
I'm glad you finally got a call !!

I got a short call today. Maybe two minutes. Not near long enough but it was so good to hear his voice.

I got the call today/Dad! Just glad to talk to him. Seems to be adapting well and gets to come home for 10days.

That's the good news I was wanting to hear. I can already hear the change in his voice and the Navy slang! I did 8 yrs also in the Navy. He's made new friends CT brothers. It will be here before we know it. Have a good day!

Received a call from my SR yesterday best 13 minutes we have had in a very long time and 2 letters the day other day. He said that they will be able to call again on this upcoming Saturday. I found out that he was sick and had to sit out for a few days. Today they will be able to use computers to look up flights and other types of transportation home. My SR said he gets to come home after graduation, but he must report to A School by the Dec 30th. I hope that everyone has heard from their SR by now.

What ship/div is your SR in? I talked to my son for about two minutes yesterday and just said he would be home after graduation for ten days but didn't say when he needed to be back. Not even sure if he will stay in GL. I just need a little more information to make his flight.
My son is on 11/38 an will be going to a school in GL. He told me to make flight arrangements for the 29th. From what I've been reading they need to report by 4:00 on the 30th. Because of the iffy weather in that area in dec. better to have them back a day earlier. Hope this helps.

He is in Ship 11 Div 037. He told me not to book anything yet, just wait until he calls this Saturday. All of this is so confusing and I hope we can figure it out soon because time is ticking and flights are going up!

I think this call was about the travel plans home for the holidays and next Sat's call will be about them returning to their A school after, if I understood it right !!! They are getting fitted for their dress blues!!! Soooo exciting !!!!

deniseMatt - I have been unable to send anything out - it sends it back every time.  Don't know if you will get this or not.  If you do, My SR said that this Friday he has 3 big inspections - physical, "personnel", and weapons.  He sounded better - knows it won't be long now. Is it OK to exchange emails directly between us?

So very dissappointed.....have been carrying my phone around like it is an appendage and the one time I had to be out of pocket yesterday is the time he got to call. Yes, I missed his call, but did get a disappointed voice message. So upset, but I can't change what has already happened. I am glad to hear that they are getting the 10 day leave opportunity. My son, Austin, is Ship 11 Div 037. Still trying to get enough information to make travel arrangements. On a brighter note I did get a second letter on Friday.. actually 2 pages this time. Lol
