N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security)
(Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips)

This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way.

The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

 • Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for your personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I got the I'm a sailor call !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEA!!!!!

Comment by bama mom on December 19, 2012 at 4:16pm

Made it to Chicago abt 8:30 this morning. No snow yet, but it's headed this way and should last thru Sunday. Temp abt 38. The best part of the trip so far is that I got to meet Sarge. He is a great guy, very personable & friendly. He has great prices compared to other taxi/cabs.

My hotel accommodations are superb. I could not ask for a cleaner room and friendlier staff. The Holiday Inn Express has large rooms, if you get the oversized, double bed w/private bath, you will certainly get your moneys worth. A desk w/lamp for PC, flat screen TV on a nice dresser. Chair in the room w/footstool...etc...........A++++++

If anyone would like to split the fare on Saturday, please let me know. Sarge has a spreadsheet of many, many travelers returning on Saturday. If anyone would like to share the cost (even if going to Midway or any other airport), please let me know.

Sarge and I were talking this a.m. & he said that if we all share the costs, it will be much less money out of our pockets. :) Even though my flight is not until 3:00, I would be willing to leave earlier to share w/others if possible!

Thanks

Audra

calebzmom:  Did you call the PAO today to see if your son passed his run?  I sure hope he did.  If so, he should do BattleStations tonight and will be a sailor tomorrow.  YAH!  Prayers for him and you!

Safe travel today ladies!  Hoping that the snow stays away!

rksteinke:  No dress code, and yes, you can wear jeans, but hopefully nice ones.  Your sailors will be in their very best!  You will see all kinds of dress there but we suggest "business or dressy casual."  I wore nice black jeans, nice shirt/sweater, jacket, boots.  Make sure you have comfortable walking shoes since there is a good deal of walking.

denise:  Hopefully he will call and leave a message if he misses you.  There are lots waiting for the phones so sometimes they don't get to call again.  Hopefully you get to talk to him!  They get a certain amount of time to call and can call as many as they like in that time.

Is there a dress code for graduation? Can we wear jeans? I don't have snow storm clothes since I'm from FL
