N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security)
(Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips)

This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way.

The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

 • Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for your personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

RanesMom:  Cute idea to have celebrated all of the holidays he will miss at his "Going Away" party!

sixftblnd:  Are you really a 6 ft blonde?  Or maybe your SR is!  :-)

There should be a brochure with hotel info with the form letter.  When my son was there, I actually googled hotels in GL.  Stayed at Residence Inn Waukegan and really liked it.  They have studios and 2 bdrm 2 bth accommodations...full kitchens, pet friendly, have PIR shuttle, free hot buffet breakfast (served earlier on PIR Day)...nice quiet area, close to Sarge's MeetandGreet.  About 4-5 miles from RTC.  Took us 10 minutes to get there on PIR day using the shuttle.

Other good hotels are:  Navy Lodge (good rates, close to base, kitchenettes may be available upon request), Springhill Suites and Courtyard Inn (both near Residence Inn).  All but Navy Lodge have PIR shuttle service.  Navy Lodge is close...you can either drive or use SARGE's taxi service that morning.  There are other hotels in the area with good rates.  Be sure to ask for Navy Grad rate, although some have reported that when they booked online, the rate was cheaper than calling for the Navy Grad rate so check both out.

Enjoy your day!

Use Div 32 if that is what the Form Letter said. :-).

Div 31 and 32 are Brother Divisions and train together. So they usually are within the same Ship as well.

Sometimes I am seeing them list both Divisions if it is an Integrated Div...males and females. They would house the males and females from both Divisions together. Anyone have a daughter in one of these Divisions?

You can call PAO on Monday and ask them about the discrepency and see what they say. Phone: Public Affairs Office 847-688-2405

LindaRae.  Hmmmm....interesting....they are brother divisions.  We tell you to usually go by the one on the form letter.  Brother divisions train together.  They also are housed in the same ship....I would stick with the one on the form letter.  Either way, he should get the mail.

My son's letter had Ship 11 Div 032 but the return address on the envelope is Ship 11 Div 031.  Any idea if there's a way I can tell which one is correct?

12/21/2012, Friday, is the correct PIR date for this TG (Training Group). The divisions listed above are correct as far as we know.

803 did have the incorrect date on their Form Letter...and we believe there is at least one more Division that should be in this TG, 905 as some have reported this on Form Letters, and maybe one other Division.

RTC PAO has been notified and asked for a correction.

Right now, that's all we know. I check their site several times a day during the week and will post as soon as I get an update.

robinbird1 - Folks who don't have their Form Letter yet are going by the info from their recruiter if they obtained their SR's address from them. They are matching up the Division with the PIR date.

We have it listed up above, which we get from the RTC Website.
