~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security)
(Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips)
This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way.
The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for your personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

bclmomct - I sure hope the info you rec'd today is correct, as my SR was one that was told he couldn't leave until 12/22 @ 16:00. Fingers crossed!
Zodiac - My SR will be checking into TSC-GL. We were originally going to pick him up from TSC on Sat morning, 12/22. Now, he may be able to stay in the hotel with us on Fri nite, 12/21??
Guess I will just have to wait until I get a phone call, letter or see him at PIR. :)
That our....refers to all of us N4M's...not my family....
Great news...I just talked to PAO office. Our recruit's leave starts at 1600 on Friday 12/21...however, they are free to leave base on Friday right after PIR...their leave just technically starts after 16:00....so they are free to leave Great Lakes as soon as PIR is over. He said just to be mindful when making travel arrangements that it's hard to get out of the facility too quickly due to all the people so don't make airline arrangements too close to the time of the PIR. I sure hope Brian was right....that's who I talked to. Hooyah!!!!
Thanks. I'll post my reply.
They are open during the daytime, but if busy, they have the recording on. I would keep trying. You can also contact them through email by going to this page:

Good Morning All!
Diannep -- I seem to have trouble getting through to the PAO office...I have tried them before. Once I get the recording -- how do I ever reach a person?
Good morning ladies and gents.....we are getting so close!!! We are almost there...who would have thought some almost 12 months ago it would finally get here...it seemed like an eternity when he signed up. And the bonus is we get them home for Christmas...we are the only boot camp moms that get our kids back for 10 days immediately following PIR. We are BLESSED!!! Enjoy your Thursday!!!
JEM: The NEX is a good place to shop, but you may want to visit the larger one off base on Green Bay Rd. Very close by, more of a selection, and won't be as crowded as the RTC NEX will be after PIR.
For those looking to "carpool" with others from the airports, please be sure to check/post in the Rides from the Airports discussion above in the forum. It will save money for all of you if riding with Sarge.
