~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security)
(Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips)
This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way.
The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for your personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I want to share to you about Sarge is what he did for us last night. Our son flew back to GL yesterday and Sarge was at the airport to pick him up. We had scheduled ahead for this of course. What Sarge did for our son was over and above what we expected. Because it was a little late Sarge took our son to his house to pickup his personal car because it has a pass on it to get him on base. Sarge took our son to the gate he needed to check in at and waited on him and then drove him the two miles to his ship so he would not have to try and find it alone and in the cold and dark and with all his gear. I was blown away! Oh yea and Sarge called us at home to let us know he had our son and what was going to happen. I am so thankful for Sarge. I know without a doubt that if our sailor needs anything while he is in A school, Sarge will help if possible. Sure made this sailor's mama breath easy!
My son just left this morning for A school. Tears are inevitable. I am not in such shock as when he left for bootcampt though. I was able to enjoy him for a week and it was true bliss. I'm so proud of him and all of "our" young men and women.
....and....I mailed my son his. I didn't know about airport visits back when he was there :-( so didn't get to give him his after PIR. He was in A school in MS and received it in just 2 days.
Yes, they can, mickeyd. Contact again! YAH!
I spoke to my daughter yesterday (she leaves for A school today) and asked her that question...she told me "yes". I do not know more than that.
diannep, can the sailors have their phones at A school?
We also stayed at the Marriott Courtyard and they were wonderful. We paid $3pp to PIR and $3pp back. I thought that was very fair. We had gotten a room with a king bed and a sofa. Our son was able to leave Friday after processing and spent the night in our room. He said he did not care where he slept even if it was on the floor. I was thankful we had the sleeper sofa. He slept like a rock!
Two more day with him.I knew it was going to fly by. He is flying back to Chicago on Sunday afternoon and gets in about 6pm. If any other sailor is going back on that day around that time maybe they could share a cab. We will be calling Sarge to get him back to the base. I don't think you can go wrong with him.
A huge thank you to Sarge and his team! He got us all around Chicago and was a great help to our family the entire time we were there. We had a great time at his Meet N Greet and it was wonderful to meet the mom's I've been talking to on here! Love you All! Thank you so much Becca for letting me keep the 904 division flag you made......I love it! I'm so proud of my Sailor. I did so well while he was in BC - no tears at all, but when I walked in the door at PIR and saw him standing there handing out programs, I just lost it! It was so good to see him and I thought my heart would burst from pride.....It's been nice to have him home these past few days and now we are preparing to say goodbye again. On to Charleston and bigger and better things......
Thank you to all my N4M mom's for all your support!
Thanks, MommaJeri. That's what is was when we were at Residence back in 2010.
