N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security)
(Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips)

This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way.

The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

 • Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for your personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

bclmomct:  Make sure your sailor in GL has SARGE's number for transportation in town and to airports.  He is wonderful with the sailors and will charge them fairly:

SARGE   847 212 0246

We paid $3 pp from Springhill Suites and $3 pp back and they did charge our sailor, but we had been told that would happen.  However, our cab driver on the way to PIR told us to warn our sailors to always have the cab driver turn on the meter.  He said they had a habit of coming to base to take the sailors stationed at GL and giving them a flat rate, that sounded agreeable, but that sometimes they would charge $20 for a ride that if metered would only be $11 or $12.

$3/p from Courtyard Marriott-Waukegan

I called same shuttle to take me to GL Friday night after son was processed and had liberty to go to dinner. I was charged $13 to the base + $1 my Sailor. From GL to resturant in Guerne it was $20. From Guerne to base and back to hotel was another $30.

One of Sarge's drivers picked me up at OHD when I arrive Thursday at charged $46 to Waukegan. Sarge pocked mr up Saturday and charged only $36 to OHD.

Good Morning Ladies!  I was wondering if you all could please post what you paid for the shuttle to PIR and what hotel it was from.  We are hearing some discrepancies in prices for the shuttles (I paid $3/pp each way from Residence when up there).

Thanks for your input!  We want to make sure to be passing on accurate info to the other PIR groups!  Hope you are enjoying time with your new sailors!

Happy New Year!

A huge thank you to Sarge and his bunch. He is truly a angel to use Navy Moms. I know he helped my family the entire time we were here and also before we arrived. Any question I had no matter what it was he had a answer.

Words cannot describe the feelings and emotions that we had on Friday at PIR. We are so proud of our son and then to be able to meet some of his shipmates was great. Listening to their stories has been good and he told us it was he best decision he could have ever made. He's looking forward to seeing the family and then heading to Charleston to start his career. I want to thank all of those moms for this website and the support that each of you has given me. I could not have gotten through the last 9 weeks without you. Take care and god bless your sons & daughters.

diannep...thanks so much, I need to get that ordered. :) I would love to see the ceremony since I couldnt be there :)

southcarolinamom:  I never spotted my son when he was there either...but he is short and was in the middle!  Be sure to order the PIR DVD though because there are shots of them as they pass the review stand and you can see them up close.  That is when I finally saw my son.  It is $29 I think.  Here is the Photo Lab phone number to order if your sailor didn't order it yet.

Maybe between that one and the one your uncle took, you can see him!
