N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security)
(Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips)

This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way.

The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

 • Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for your personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Felicia TEXASNAVYMOM - thanks for the info and for contacting RTC. :)

Comment by Felicia TEXASNAVYMOM on November 1, 2012 at 2:20pm

I wrote the RTC Command again about the Christmas Holidays and this is what they said:

Ma'am,

The command has not come to a decision on the possibility of holiday leave.
As soon as we do, we will let the recruit know so that they may communicate
it to their family and friends. Prior years, sailors have had the
opportunity to take leave.

Respectfully,

Another "Big" Thank you....I really appreciate all the information and comfort to know that we are all in the same boat (aka ship)....love the count down...

Comment by karis on November 1, 2012 at 1:48pm

Can anyone verify the address for sailors in ship 3 Div 036 for me? I probably won't get a letter as my son left back in Sept and has been in RCU this whole time. He just joined this division. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

BRADMOM- Just go my letter, so proud.  Writing my first letter today. Miss him so much. So glad I have this site for information. This is the first Military person in my family in over 40 years.  All support and information is welcome.  This is my first born.

Thank you so much in advance.

ryannlivsmom:  There are about 8 of us N4Moms veterans on the PIR sites trying to guide you all along (names up top)...and one retired sailor too (Craig)!  So we will try to get you as complete and up to date info as we can.

Comment by MommaJeri on November 1, 2012 at 11:03am

Good Morning!

I, too, would like to say THANK YOU for all the time & effort the N4Moms veterans put into helping us "newbies". You all are Angels in my book!  :)
