J gets a scheduled called on the 20th to talk about if hes coming home after graduation. I guess they want to know who's going to be there to prepare for the holiday meal. Also, some might want to consider this but J talked to his recruiter and even though he loses 5 days after A School to move.. he will get 10 days cause he is going to assist his recruiter for 5 days ( an hr or 2 ea day) to earn 5 days. Something you might want to talk to your RS recruiter about.

Hey Div 801 Moms: I just got a call from my son. He had to call to get some info for an additional background check so I got to talk to him for well over 5 minutes. He said they have a scheduled call this Sunday. So be on the lookout. I was in such shock to get the call at 7pm on a Fri night but was able to ask the following...I asked if it was true if they were kept up for 40 hours he said yes. I asked if the food was good (sorry I have no idea why I asked that) he said yes. I asked if he'd received any of my letters and he said not yet. And drum roll please...I asked if it was true that he could come home after PIR and he said YES! I said when can you leave and he said right after PIR. I am on cloud nine right now. Now we can all look forward to Sunday. .

Priscilla, this was the first letter that I didn't have to struggle to decipher! First thing the Navy has done for my son...improve his penmanship! :)

Yay! I got my first letter today! He sounds really good! Said the first couple of days were really hard, but sounds like they are in a routine now! He said the hardest part is folding and keeping their racks neat! I KNEW that was going to be difficult for him!
So happy to hear that so many of you got your letters today too!
Has anyone else besides me noticed all of the Navy references on tv shows lately? I heard Anchors Aweigh on tv twice this week! hahaha!

By the way, I am reading Honor, Courage, Commitment--a book about Navy bootcamp--and it has given me so much insight into what the past two weeks have been like for him. I highly recommend it! I do have to admit there are parts that I have to put down because I can't see through my tears, but once I regain my composure, I get back into it and I can't put it down!

I just wanted to say thanks to those who have ordered their ribbons in the past couple of days. I finally got the letters in I ordered weeks ago so now I feel like I can breath and my mailman can go on to live another day. I don't think he has another Navy mom on his route but you never know. For those who would like to order the ribbons to wear to PIR/Meet & Greet or just for a keepsake send me a friend request and I will send you the info. Don't forget from now until Christmas all orders come with a free scrapbook embellishment :-)
