OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Your recruit will get the same benefits that everyone in this division now gets..so it will take some time for you to hear from your recruit...but you will get a letter and you will get instructions...so hang tight and welcome to this group...I bet you are so excited they are out of RCU...for those of you who do not know what this means..RCU is Recruit Convalescent Unit which means this recruit sustained an injury and is now returning to a division to finish his/her training...welcome this mom...that is a tough road!!

Thanks Dianne....

I agree with Lynne, everyone. You can use first initial if you like or refer to your SR as "my son, daughter, wife, hubby, bf, gf, etc" Just best to keep it under the radar as Lynne said. Also, I suggest that you make your "page" private so people have to "friend" you to see it...especially if you have pictures on there. Remember, this is a public site....just google something about bc and watch how many posts from "Navy for Moms' come up.

ctownnavymom: You are too funny! I think your SR is "safe" with your profile pik!

Lis: Welcome! I hope that you kept your original form letter for her first division. You won't get another one and you will need that password to call the PAO office before graduation to get the new password. They will ask for the old password and confirm that she is scheduled to graduate.

The PAO number is 847-688-2405

But don't call until about 11 days before graduation when the gate passes are ready to print out. You DID get the first form letter, right? If not, then call the PAO office now.
