OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

I recieved my first letter today. Was filled with good information but I could tell J is having "emotionally" a hard time being away from his son and I. It broke my heart to read..." I am eagerly looking forward to hearing from you and A. Hug and kiss him for me, I miss you both so much. I can't stop crying as I write this. I love you both."

I also recieved infomation on how to get my ID card and insurance.. I am going to the recruiters office for help on those.

MsMaria: Your group is still PIR 12/3. Division 16 is there, but glad that you are visiting these other groups for info. There is lots of GOOD info on each of the PIR sites! Once you have your division number, as you do, then your PIR date doesn't change...unless your recruit gets setback. Then it will change but you are notified then.

I made a discussion about MEET&GREET if anyone wants to add opinions there or wants to give advise of what the ones before us have done.

I got my letter from him yesterday (Monday) and I'm in southern CA - so not anywhere near IL :). It got here super fast, when he called on Sunday he said he put it in the mail Fri and I looked at the postmark on the envelope and it said the 6th so it only took 2 days...And he started getting mail from me on Friday :)

Mary...you seem to be doing a great job...we had avery close PIR group and what worked great for us was I started a discussion group for every division so that each division kind of had a home but the chat room was central but individual divisions could connect and keep up to date on what was happening in their divisions...just a suggestiont to consider!!
