On the Christmas gift line of discussion, I'm getting my son a Kindle. He's a big reader and even if he can't take it to A school I'm sure he'll use it plenty later on. He also needs a camera. Kimber - I almost get jealous every time someone says they get a letter or call, but usually it's just relief that someone else gets released from the 'What the Heck's Happening Pergatory."

I'm one of those in-limbo people so far. What is is, what isn't isn't and my fingers are crossed for a 12/22 PIR. The letter will be great. I started thinking yesterday I had a feeling they were waiting for enough people to form another PIR group or division. . Baking foccacia bread and turkey breast meatloaf and scrapbooking this morning. Comfort hobbies! So happy for those of you who got letters or phone calls. Either one right now would be just the thing I need. Maybe Monday.

Suzi, I booked last night at the Marriott Residence Inn Chicago Waukegan/Gurnee
from 12/21-12/23. We are waiting for my son to let us know when he must leave home for "A" school. He is only taking 5 days leave this trip, but we need to know if there is a special or designated time that he must report for school 12//28, before we can make our airlines reservations. That way, I can make our reservations for GL and make his from GL to Mississippi. Kim

Lisa, I have no clue what to get my son and I actually have 2 sailors to buy. I have to buy for my son and my daughter's boyfriend, who is on a submarine in the Pacific. My daughter's boyfriend will be the big challenge, because I could actually ask him what to get my son. I figure since she has already been through his A school, he will be able to tell me what my son is allowed to bring with him, when he goes. If he gives me some good suggestions, I will share them on here.

What do you plan on getting your sailor for Christmas? I'm having a hard time figuring out what to get "Z" He already has a laptop and cell phone which from what I understand he can take to A school. Do you know if they can take cameras or books?
