Also, did you schedule your husband a flight home on the day of PIR? My sister is going with me and we are thinking we will book a flight home the next day. We will get my son and go back to our hotel though, but don't want to risk missing a flight out that evening because I heard it can take anywhere from 1 to 5 hours for the guys to process out...

Priscilla, In other words they are able to take the leave, but they will owe back any additional days beyond their earned 5 days that they will use, correct? Do you know how they pay back the days? I hate to make the decision for my son, but I have not heard from him. How long is of a leave is your husband taking. My son goes to Pensacola, so I am trying to decide when I should book his flight from home to FL...
You are so helpful, thank you!

Janet: they do have leave from those dates, however they've only earned 5days. So, if they take leave longer than 5days, they'll be in the hole (negative days in leave). Hope that helps. Msg me if you have any questions. I think my husband's in your son's division.

I'm confused about the five day leave...I thought they have leave from grad day (Dec. 22) through Jan 2. Can anyone clarify? I know this has been chatted about, but I am still unclear. My son will come home after grad, but how soon should I book a flight to A-school (Pensacola)?

G's Proud mom...this usually happens while they are in boot camp...these security clearances have to get done for them to go to A-school...sounds like he was giving you a heads up...here is funny story...in my PIR group...the guy showed up to one of my mom's work on the Friday before Halloween unannounced and she was...wait for it...dressed up like a clown....we got the biggest laugh out of that....she said she half scared to tell her son she did his security clearance interview in a clown suit...lol
