nina: airports shouldn't matter since some are flying through southwest which goes thru midway, and others are flying with diff airlines. as long as you send a copy of the itinerary, you're good to go.

question guys! C told me to book his flight on his way home from O'hare, but his mom booked him from Midway. It shouldnt matter right? as long as we have the ticket booked, its fine? airports shouldnt matter? i know its sound silly, but i just wanna make sure! thanks in advance :)

Nina, I don't know how long my hubby is in school for in Pensacola, I just know that he goes to school for a total of two years and it is all in Pensacola, but I think it is different A Schools broken up. He told me he doesn't have to report back to the base in Pensacola until Jan 4th, that he signed a paper stating that. Maybe he has a different agreement? I don't know.

I got an e-mail confirmation a few ago saying that J bought his ticket from home to A school. I guess they are making travel arrangements for the recruits or rather getting tickets already from them. J had to pay for it. I got another e-mail confirming payment. I guess he put our joint e-mail address on there as the confirmation e-mail so I would get it and see it. J is only coming home for 5 day leave cause he was told from his RDC that if he takes the 10 days he will not get leave after A school to come home, that he would have to go straight to his first duty station and I was moving myself.

My advice to everybody is that make the habit of writing down any questions that pop when your are thinking. You know how it is when he or she call your are so excited that you don't ask the important questions and once you finish, you remember all the questions that you suppose to ask and you forgot. I send the questions when I write but just in case when he call i get the note book and start asking the questions. Like yesterday he didn't receive the letter where I let him know that I bought his ticket and when I told him, he automatic said "Mom I need you to send it to this e-mail". Make the habit that what ever come first (letter or call) you can find the information.

I strongly agree with Ash, for everybody look like is a little different. My son yesterday told me where is he going (he is in submarines, that one is easy CT) and told me when he need to return and ask me to look for tickets to return. I spend my morning searching around for the nearest airport and finally I bought his ticket. I already send the itinerary of coming home and returning, even that my son told me I don't need to prove the return I don't want to take any chance.

Okk..thanks. I guess I'll just be patient :)

Yes, good point, Ash. Hoping that all of the recruits will be in touch about what they need from home. You can't depend on phone calls for this info--- they are random....but they should be able to write with any instructions that they have been given.

Thanks for the advice. He called me Friday but never mentioned about the itinerary. He only told me how he's taking leave and that's about it. I hope I get a call from him again to get things straight.
:)
