nina: ya; i hopped onto the computer. i couldn't wait to read it; hahaha.
gah. really stuck in a predicament; i wanna go to PIR, but it's so expensive, i'll be nearly 8mos pregnant, & hate the cold. i wrote S a letter asking if he needs me there, otherwise i'll fly him home that day & save money. we'll see. no new letters in the mail today. hopefully tomorrow.

Sweetgen: correct. They can, indeed, have leave after PIR.

The way I understand is Leave is that they get to come overnight with us and Liberty they have to report to the training center everynight by 9

My apologies if I missed it in the discussion but can someone clarify something for me, is it Liberty or Leave that they can take? I believe there is a difference.

I just got off the phone wiyh J 38 minutes And we three wayed his dad. His sisters were here and got to talk also. He said he has watch duty every other night but has to get up every two hours to check on the other watchers every night. He said lack of sleep sucks. He liked it better when he was not getting noticed. lol that J for you. He said he is in the line behind the flags. It is nice to him him in good spirits. Halfway next Wednesday yeah.

I saw a question raised on the chat board about travel from the airport to Base - I learned this by calling my SR's A school base (Groton, CT). Not sure if it will work yet but will know more when my SR calls while home on leave between PIR and A.

Ground transportation from the airport - I was told to contact the Quarter Deck at your SR's A school base - very possibly, there is a Duty Driver available to transport your Sailor from the airport to their base.
