I got all call from my son to. It was so great to hear his voice. 41 minutes. I agree Mary it was the best call. He sounds great and has decided not to take his leave after PIR. He does not want to be in the hole the 5 days. I can handle that. The unknown is no longer unknown. Yay!!!

Wow I am sure glad denise stopped by to answer those questions because my brain was a big fat zero on those answers...and imagine who I would have asked...lol!! the adjustment is difficult but they wlll get used to it...change is always difficult...they will learn to sleep any chance they get they will be so tired..lol and I have not idea about the answer to your question navygirlfriend...but someone with much more experience than me will be through here shortly and know...

Can anyone answer this question? It's sort of confusing, and I apologize if my wording is weird. But, I'm wondering- what will recruits do if they take only 5 days leave instead of the whole 10 days so they are not in the hole? Do they have to go straight to A school, or can they take those 5 days as Liberty, so that they can still spend time with family, but just return to the base every night?
I'm pretty sure my boyfriend is only taking 5 days, but I'm going to be there till January 2nd because I thought that that was how long he had a break, whether it be leave or liberty. Does anyone know? It's so confusing!
