I didn't think about the halfway mark and I'm going to go write that on the calendar! Thanks for the smiles tonight! You guys are great...and you are right, we don't want to whine, but sometimes we just need to say it so that we can feel better and be strong for the rest of the family and for our SRs. I had a rough day and I could feel the tears coming...I was so embarrassed to be trying to get out the door to my car with tears flowing down my cheeks...I saw my Superintendent and flew past him. This is NOT me. I don't burst into tears at work!!!!! So, it felt good to release here tonight. My husband is a doer...he fixes things instead of talking. So needless to say Ns car is in tip top shape! haha!

Thank you Rose. I know that it will be over before you know it. I just wish I would get a letter, call or something. I know that there are others out there in the same boat as me. But that does not make it feel any different. I agree with you that coming here makes me feel better to. Thanks again. TTYL

npsailormom92 I know what you mean. I miss my son so much!! Moms are so different that dads, my husband act like nothing. Me, I keep coming here I don't know how many times a day because I feel connected to all of you, even when I'm at work when I can I log in. Here I find information that make me feel better. I know we all in the same boat. Just receiving the letter yesterday telling me that he miss me...I start crying!! Hang in there like Mary said it's almost half way!!!

I know what you mean. I hate that I cannot call his name and know he is there to answer me. I miss him terribly.

I am not sure if anyone has recieved a letter from my son. I know that I have not and I just keep going to the mailbox everyday. He has been in BC since 10/27. I am so ready to hear his voice again and just know how he is doing and feeling. He is not much of a talker but when he called last Saturday to tell me that he had liberty after graduation I did not want to get him in trouble. I was not sure how long he could talk so we cut it short within a couple minutes. I regret it so badly. I sent him another calling card today. I am so thankful to have all of you to listen as well. I know that my husband gets tired of listening to my whining. He has been able to handle this in such a different way. As far as he is concerned he has only been gone for 3 weeks and I should not be so concerned. This is just part of life. I should get used to it. I really think that if you are a caring mother you will never be able to handle not being able to talk to any of your children whenever you want will always be hard. Thanks for listening. I promise no more whining from me today. Have a great evening everyone. PS: Were we not suppose to smell there clothes when we got the box? OOPS!!! LOL!!!

CTOWNNAVYMOM... This week has been a hard one and its not Wed. yet. It's that "in the middle" feeling I am having. Waiting on the letter so I know for sure what he wants to do for Holiday Leave. It's lonely and I know if I keep myself busy time will go by.. but as the time goes I think more about him and get sadder. But! One thing we ALL get to look forward to is next Tues at midnight is their half way point in the BC journey. Time goes down hill from this so yay! Something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Thanks everyone. I felt I could write that here because I knew someone else must have felt that way. If I tried to explain it to my friends here...well, I would be afraid I would sound silly, so thanks! I agree, I was having a lovely conversation with my self while I was vacuuming (I clean when I get upset! :) ) and I was reminding myself that he knows no matter what, I'm here for him and sometimes we all just need to touch base with our friends. And he has such great friends. They are leaving him notes on his facebook and so I got the idea last night to copy them and paste them in my letter...it was like they all sent him a little letter. The boys are so darn cute..."I love you bro...I miss you man...etc."
Thanks for listening and not thinking I'm some neurotic jealous mom! haha! :) It was kind of like sharing with all of you that I smelled his clothes when they came home in the box! haha! Wow...Some day we wil be really laughing at ourselves!

Penny and Elizabeth, I had the same feeling last week, when one of A's friends said she got a letter. I think it's very normal to feel that tinge of jealousy. ((hugs))

Penny...my heart breaks for you, my son has alot of friends and the day one of his friend texted me saying he got a letter from T my heart broke I was happy someone heard from him but it wasn't me...a letter to me came shortly thereafter. Sometimes I think our boy's are putting feelers out to friends to make sure they are not missing out on anything in their circle of friends, they know we are true blue, 100% behind them and will be there no matter what...they don't know that about that with their circle of friends. It may not make the hurt go away but some how it makes me understand my son more...he knows where I stand he's not sure about everyone else.
Elizabeth
P.S. - I think last week was the "official time to pull the wisdom teeth week" my son had all 4 of his pulled....he said it really wasn't that bad...OUCH..I'm glad I heard about it after its was done, I would have been a mess with worry.

Hello ladies. I was having such a difficult time yesterday and I so wanted a letter. Thought for sure I would get one...but no letter. Then today on facebook I saw N's gal pal...just friends...got a letter from him yesterday. I was really trying not to be upset...I keep telling myself that he has wonderful friends and I am very grateful that they are all so supportive of him...but yikes... I sure felt some pangs of jealousy! Oh well, I'm feeling better now...I sent her a message and asked her to let me know how he was doing this week. She is a sweetie and I'm sure I'll hear. I keep hearing about wisdom teeth...I'm wondering if N had any work done. He was having some problems this summer. I'll just have to wait and see.
I was reading in HCC that the Navy has a program to send recruits to families for Thanksgiving leave. Does anyone know about that? I would feel sooooo relieved to know he was with a family. It sounds like they make phone calls and such when they are there. I would love to know.
Penny
