Too excited! The letter was with the 11/11 day. One thing that it really got me was that he sounds ok but he ask me if I can please buy him the ticket to come home. Last Saturday when he call he told me I don't have nothing to do for him, he just need to let them know. I also wrote an e-mail to Public Affair and the navy specialist wrote me that I don't need to do anything that my recruit was working with them to got the ticket and now to hear that we need to buy the ticket for them....of course is fine with me but kind of last minute. The point is that thanks GOD for credit cards. I bought his ticket, (his wish came true) flying back with us and I came from the post office where I send the letter to let him know that he is coming home with us and to encourage him to hand in there and that I love him. He sound very sick home and what I never thought that he will said he did LOVE YOU MOM AND I MISS YOU!!! What a change. Last he told me he past the swim text.

Wow, had a lot of catching up to do with all of your posts! Lots of good information...thanks to all of you for sharing. Kim, thanks for sharing about Veterans Day. I was wondering what it was going to be like for them. Yay to those of you getting letters and calls. It seemed like we got calls and letters, and then nothing. I, too, carried my phone around all day with me on the weekend. I teach so I'm not supposed to have my phone on during the day...well rules are meant to be broken! :) I'm not sure what I will do if he calls while I'm teaching! Since they had time to write on Thursday...I'm hoping that I might get aletter tomorrow.
It is so good to read what everyone is writing! I am struggling witht the fact that this is the biggest thing in my life and I don't want to "bore" everyone else with it...I get the pleasant smiles and nods, but I really want to talk about what is happening and aside from one other teacher who was in the Navy years ago...I just don't feel like anyone else truly understands! So the long and short of it is thank you all so much for sharing and helping me and others feel like we are not alone.

Hi Ladies-Dianne is right! When that first call/letter comes SOOOO Great! They couldn't be in better hands. We were expecting a call yesterday, you know football is on so I usually go shopping Sunday afternoon, but was afraid to leave the house. No call. Then this afternoon got the call. T had two wisdom teeth pulled said he got off Fri & Sat. was really bored & glad to be back in the swing. T just sounds great! Hope all your sailors are sounding the same, Always praying for all of them:)

I received two letters today.I was excited til I read them."I miss all of you a lot but, most of all I miss you"Read that and the faucet turned all the way on!!And in the other one"I'm just hoping that this was the right decision,I'm not sure anymore but, I will NOT quit though!!"That's my boy!!!Quitting is not an option.Just thought I would share some of the letters with you all.I think the no contact thing is getting to him.We are so close and that's why I think he feels like that.

Hang in there, those of you who have not had a letter or call yet. They're coming and it makes such a difference. HAPPY DANCES for all then!! Just know that the Navy is taking good care of them...they are safe, learning, being fed well and having thorough medical and dental exams, etc. That first letter and phone call are the best!

Thanks Kim. At least I know that they are getting into the swing of things as both our guys are in it together. Rose it is very discouraging and I do agree. Just a note with Hi Mom would be great. I went ahead and booked our hotel reservations and I guess I can change them if I do find that he wants to come home for leave. I am a want to know kind of woman and really having a hard time with the unknown stuff. I guess I better get used to it. Huh!!! Everyone have a wonderful evening. Cathy

Hello everyone, I finally received 2 letters Saturday,my daughter-in-law received one and it was sad as my son was lonely for family. We waited all weekend as he has called either on a Saturday or Sunday of each week and no call. Today, I got a letter in the mail dated Nov. 11 and he is in full swing and no longer lonely as he has met some friends. He did say that they have finally gotten the marching down. Verterans' day was a holiday for them as well and they got free time from 7am -1pm. I know this is not like reading a letter from your loved ones, but I hope this gives you some peace of mind - knowing that they are ok and finally coming to terms and fitting in.

Neither my boyfriend's mother or I have not received a phone call or letter yet. I was told that they get a phone call when they first get there to let family know that they're okay. But I just have to pray that he's alright and that a letter is on the way.
