~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".
The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

ship13 div041!
Paula I am from Florida as well, so that is very cold.
Ugh, the weather sidget says 27 degrees...brr cold for my FL blood! But I just got my letter! 12/28!! Christmas week!!
Welcome to the group, Nika!
Ladies, they can't write letters for 2 weeks....they have to train the Recruit Mail Petty Officer first. The first time they can write is usually on a Sunday. The mail is held from them for this length of time too....so their first letter to you may say: Why haven't you written? When in fact, you got an address from the recruiter or the form letter and had written tons of letters. Just know that they do get the letters...just may not have when they wrote to you.
I don't think they will get to go home, because I was told that they have to stay on base unless they request for time off. Not sure. It is all so confusing to me it is driving me crazy
I'm wondering about when they ship out for A school as well. My son is going to SC (nuke). We're going up to IL for PIR with my parents and my sister and her family, but we have to head back on the 29th so I can get back to work (new job, not much time off yet). But if our son is going to have several days, would he be able to go home with my sister?
Does anyone know if they will ship out to Pensacola on Sat or Sunday after boot camp? His recruiter told me it would be Sunday, but from what others say it could be Saturday.
Hi Brenda. That's sweet that she wrote that on her shoe. Something you will keep for the memories. I'm hoping I hear from my son soon.
Hello Everyone, my Daughters ship is 11 Div 044 . Loved getting my letter with graduation info today, got the box yesterday. Her shoes had written on the side with a marker saying Day 1 Love and miss you guys, and todays letter had a note jotted off to the side , I love and miss you All, can't wait till graduation to wrapp my arms around her.
Hi there. My son is Ship 3 Div 040 and I've been reading that some of you have gotten the letter with their PIR dates. I'm still waiting for mine and it's driving me crazy! After reading your posts about maybe having a few extra days with them after graduation I called his recruiter to ask if that might be a possibility. He told me he will probably go ahead and be sent to Pensacola the day after graduation but might have time off once he gets there. He said that we probably won't know until the time comes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get something...anything...soon!
