~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

My son left on Nov 1 I don't know if this is the right group or not I have not gotten his PIR date yet and this does not list the ship and div yet. He is on ship 13 div 042. I am waiting on the letter. Is there a way to tell just from his ship and div which PIR date he has? Does anyone know?Just waiting. Thanks for any info.
Can't wait for PIR on 12-28! More excited about that than Christmas! Only thing I don't like is it is in the middle of the holiday season and prices are soo expensive to fly to GL. 500.00 a ticket for us. NOT fun but won't miss PIR. My son is 03 Div 040
Make sure you put your Form Letter in a safe place. Do not throw it away!
It has important information on it that you will need for PIR.
Welcome to the group akswany, if you have any questions at all just ask. We are here to help in any way we can.
Hi I'm Karen and I just got my sons PIR date for Dec. 28.
Congrats, Kimberley, on the call!
Just got a surprise call from my son, Austin. He needed info for security clearance reasons. He is ship 03 div 039. Said they just got in their permanent barracks yesterday. They did not get to go to church this past Sunday, but they will this Sunday. Said the chaplain is very nice. Sunday they have holiday time from 7am-1pm. Can take longer showers and have personal time then. Said he will call again possibly this Sunday or next. Haven't been able to write letters yet. And, although, we got his address the day after he left (on 2Nov)from his recruiter and have been writing everyday, he has not gotten any mail yet. Hopefully, this Sunday they will get mail. He sounded like a man. Wanted to let us know how much he misses us and wants to be with us again and be a better son and brother. He said to only send letters....no newspaper clippings, packages or anything, and lots of pictures. I am so thankful for that precious call...
Ingrid, I saw the video, but I am not sure if it would include our boys :) I didn't see any tall bald boy with glasses and killer dimples, so no pics of my boy LOL
OMGGGGGGG....I think I saw my son on the U.S. Navy Recruit site on facebook. Sure looks like him!! So excited. They were marching!!!! Gave me a great boost.
