Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Marti, he would have had to have taken his bank info with him to set up direct deposit, right?  I would guess that he's either used the account to buy some things, or he may have opened an account with the Navy Federal Credit Union (they're a GREAT deal).

Don't freak out. It could just be him buying stuff that he needs for boot camp.

Hi everyone! 4 day & 19 hours before we see our Sailor. Since the weather may be bad we are now leaving on Christmas Morning to get a step ahead. Luckily getting a room was no problem. These next few days will be a blur..a little shopping & candy making today, Christmas Eve with family tomorrow & then head out...gotta find time to pack. We will be at Ramada Inn meet & greet hope to meet some of ya'll

Thanks for this site and all the support and questions answered these last 7 weeks - I hope to meet you all somewhere in Great Lakes next weekend.  All the things you said would happen, have happened and now I feel like I have made it through some obstacle course - couldn't have done it without all of you.  Thanks and I will all of you and your families a very Merry Christmas!!

Good morning and Merry Christmas Eve Eve!!

I got the best Christmas present on Friday. My sailor son, who I haven't seen since April and was not expecting home this Christmas, walked in my front door.

Safe travels this week to all of you. You are in for the best hug you have ever had!!!

Leaving tomorrow for Chicago.  It's gonna be a cold one but should be fun.  I hope to see some of you ladies at PIR or other functions.  It's been my pleasure "getting to know" you.  Thanks for being a source of comfort for these few months.  It made a world of difference for my sanity!  Merry Christmas Ladies!!!!

Lynette:  I'm sure they will have the info at the main gate.  They may have signs posted as well.
