N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

I hope we can all stay in touch this group has meant alot I can't believe how quickly the time actually flew by. So proud of all our Sailors.  It's was nice meeting the women I met on here Bugsmom, Irishgryeyes, DaytonaMom and Dahlinka...wishing you all the best!!!

I kind of miss all the email notifications already! All of you have been such a great help through the hard times. How is everyone's sailor doing? Mind is great but busy getting things ready for them to start the process after the holidays. He really wishes he could be home, but I'm going to fly out and see him when he has more freedom on liberty. Getting to text him has been amazing and seeing his picture pop up on my phone when he calls is the best feeling. I can't wait to get him his computer so we can skype, but for now I send him tons of pics and he loves them. I can't wait for the new year and to continue this beautiful life I have with my little family. Hope all of you are doing well and I wish you the happiest new year full of blessings!

Nana2seven - yes, I joined the MA group, a couple of them actually.

Chebon'smom - is your son in MA school also?

I am looking for the mom of a sailor going to SC who's first name is Wesley and last name begins with an "S" and he is friends with my son.  Can we put last names on here yet?

Comment by Nana2seven on December 30, 2012 at 1:27pm

LoriK...enjoy the ceremony next week.  My son is in San Antonio waiting to start A school for MA on 1/7.  Hopefully they'll get to know each other.  Have you joined the MA group here?

I had a wonderful time at grad. My mind is so full of so many thoughts. It was wonderful Meeting some of the girls from here as well. My son is snapping some photos at the airport (Midway) For those who fly out to pensacola today Ill get them posted when I get home late tonight from work. Bugs was wonderful meeting you as well as you Marg. <3

The ceremony was awesome! I was having fits because I didn't see my sailor in his division or anywhere. Then the honor/awards group walked in! I had to grab my kleenix...he looked so much more mature. &it's been awhile since we've seen him with glasses on! The Navy can make him wear them when I couldn't.  He arrived in San Antonio well before we made it back to Oklahoma. (12:10) Great experience!!

WHAT a wonderful graduation ceremony.  Would NOT have missed it for anything.  It was so great to meet all of you wonderful ladies.  I was so emotional when I saw my son.  It was hard to take him back to base.  CONGRATULATIONS to all the Sailors and Parents.  Well done!  Ladies please stay in touch!  HUGS to you all.
