N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Any BattleStations dates been received from your SRs?  Trying to start a schedule for this group.  Please don't post them...private message to me and to anyone else who would like them.  Just post on here that you have one so they can find you.  Thanks!

Kimberley my son is also ship 03/div039 and I also got a letter today said that they all have been sick, but are doing real good. Just said that for the weeks they will be busy so he don't know if he will get to write as much. Glad to hear they are doing o.k. Thanks for the update.

Just got a letter from my son.  He is one of the section leaders for ship 03/div039.  It was written this past Saturday night.  Said they had had a LONG week.  Monday(of last week) was Marlinspike, which he said was very cool.  Tues and Wed was firearms and he was top shot out of both divisions!  There were 3 others who qualified as "expert"  Thursday was tailoring and pictures.  They should get to see their pictures sometime this week.  Said they drilled, drilled, drilled all Friday and Saturday....he estimated 20 miles worth....this Monday was their drill inspection and he said all that work will be well worth it.  He mentioned that while they were drilling outside he was excited to see some Christmas lights through a fence.....about makes me cry....He said to tell everyone to keep on writing!!!  It means SO much to them.

Hang in there, everyone.  2 more weeks.  God bless all of you.  Looking forward to meeting as many as possible of you....

Here's a funny Cristmas scene...needed a good laugh today!

They train every day for their physical tests. Only about 4% don't pass the final PFA and like diannep said they get plenty of chances to try and pass before graduation. Don't let that worry you. Graduation is a HUGE motivation to get that score. :)

Comment by diannep on December 13, 2012 at 2:18pm

All must pass the final PFA, no matter what they did the first two times.  If they don't, they get to try again M-W-F in the FIT Division.  If they pass by Wed before PIR, they will do BattleStations with the next group going through (possibly even the night before PIR) and be present at PIR in uniform.  If they go through the night before PIR, obviously they will be very tired and may not march (so in the balcony), but they are there and are sailors!

For those who don't pass by PIR, they get many more chances in FIT DIVISION as long as they keep improving each time.  Some may be there for 3 more weeks, others just a few more days.  Just depends on when they pass.  They will then complete BattleStations with the next group going through and then head to A School.  No PIR.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on December 13, 2012 at 10:35am

dahlinka, they will get several more chances to pass and if they pass and can do battlestations they can still graduate on time.
