N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Rebecca:  Do you know where your SR will be going to A School?  If so, ask that on the A School N4Moms group too.  And in the girlfriends, fiances, wives group:

Good Morning All!

Thanks for clarifying that, LeeAnn'sNavyPride.  I hope that you are able to take your SR's friend with you!

Hello All! Received adopt-a-sailor form from my daughter. Does anyone know if anything is open in the Waukegan/Chicago Area on December 25? We already have reservations for the PIR on 12/28 for Thursday and Friday. The restaurant in our hotel will be closed on Christmas day. We are considering added the extra days, but would like suggestions on what to do in that area on a budget for the days leading up to the 12/28 PIR. Thanks!

bqsmom:  Hoping that your daughter heals soon and is back to training!

LeeAnn'sNavyPride:  I read a post by another lady that on the form, it says that only relatives can "adopt" their SR for Christmas. Someone else had asked about this.  If your SR mails you the form, that should clarify it.

I finally got to talk to my daughter last night.  She is in RCU & she will not PIR with the rest of her division.  I feel I should leave the group & join another once we get her new PIR date.  Everyone here has been helpful :& supportive.  I thank you all.  Good luck to everyone's SR!

A friend posted this picture on her Facebook page, and it kind of just hit me:  THIS is what Boot Camp is.  Taking all these individuals - each one with their own quirks, habits, preferences, instincts, and abilities - and transforming them into a UNIT.  A working group that can act as ONE to get the job done.  That's not easy, and it's not quick!

Sorry if this is a duplicate question - but I can't find any info:  My son is 02/906 PIR 12/28 - does anyone know how we can get Adopt a Sailor letter? We haven't recieved it and we're looking to plan to fly to Chicago on Christmas eve so we can spend Christmas day with him - IF he has leave (which from what I can see from all the online groups, etc... he does)?  THANK you!

He will continue to try and pass the swim portion right up until a couple days before PIR and still be able to fit battle stations in and graduate on time. They will work with them to try and pass the tests and hopefully he will pass it very soon. You will get a call if he doesn't pass it and is being set back in training. But even if you get that call there could still be time to pass and have PIR on time. At this point no news is definitely good news. :)

For any of you from FL, we vacation there every summer and always have a party for all our navy Mom friends in the area we are in. Last year it was wonderful and we had a bunch of Navy Moms there. Some with recruits in boot camp, some in A-school, some who had been in the Navy for several years. It was so much fun getting to know each other and talking about our Sailors. My Sailor was with us on vacation so they all got to meet her and ask her tons of questions and she was so happy to help. This summer we will be back in the New Port Richey area so if you are close enough to that area and would like to come please let me know so I can get your email and phone number to contact you with the dates :)

I also have a Meet and Greet in VA Beach when I go to visit my Sailors so if you are in that area and would like to meet others let me know your info as well.
