~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".
The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

@Kimberley - That was really sweet! Thank you! He will find someone special.....Yeah, I appreciate everything my parents did. I thank them every day for never giving up and showing me how to be a great parent. I find myself doing what they did with my son now. lol but I actually don't mind!
that last comment was directed to rickysgirl.....but I am sure it applies to many of you....
Yes, my son has a new appreciation for good old mom and dad now and all the things we said and did to bring him up and prepare him to be a fine man.......it was not easy, for sure, but so well worth it. Praying that some day he finds a woman who cares about him as much as you do your SR! Have a blessed day everyone.
Speaking of rumors...it seems like from what I am seeing that those attending A school will have to check in there first and put in for leave from there.
RTC is not commenting on other A schools...only TSC GL. They just did a new post today and I will add it to the Discussion up above.
Again, I don't see Zman'smom's post on there. :-( Don't know why...
I'm getting lost and can't rememebr if anyone emailed PAO or asked etc about those NOT attending GL A school. Does anyone know? :-)
If you get information about leave for those Sailors that will be attending A school anywhere other than TSC GL...please feel free to post it. You could just do it here and I will make a Discussion or make a Discussion yourself like diannep and Ricky's Girl did (TY!).
Please though, lets just make one Discussion for each school...it just helps make it less confusing.
@ Kimberley - That's great! We care more about their well being that they do. I know I want to make this process as smooth and easy as possible for my SR. He has already thanked me for making his transition easy because I gave him as much information as possible out how things would be and how he would feel. He is a warrior, but he felt more ready.
@MartiMar - So far so good. Just hoping for a call!
diannep - Oh phooey you...you know we are a team!
But thank you...I enjoy it...and if I could sit here all day (uh, sometimes I do. Naughty I know, as I know I have chores to do...yuck)
I blame hormones on the no being able to sleep! Or maybe it's being 50 (those birth years with the "0" at then end always get me) ...who knows!
LaLa likes to call me a little fairy leaving presents...at holiday time she says I am an elf!
Too funny Kimberley!
So you informed your sons Recruiter! Love it. But you know, that is good! Good that you know and good that he was willing to listen. Yeah, rumors fly around etc, etc. But we really do try to dispel them and get correct info out.
And yes, moms (or others of the female persuasion!) have their missions!
diannep, LaLa, Betsy JessicaB (she's not on the site actively right now), they were all MY PIR "moms"...and I so valued that and it inspired me to stay on the site! ellen0502 was a Group leader for her PIR Group and now helps out on them and helps me create them and with the techy stuff. We all have our "niche" and try to work together...it wouldn't work so well with just one of us...and there have been times when sometimes one is carrying more of the load because the others have extra "life" going on. Whew! We usually have 7-8 active PIR Groups...getting caught up to that again after the two week gap.
So, we always welcome anyone helping out!
No problem....we are all eternally thankful for all your work on this site. I wish I would have thought to tell my son to tell people in his section to tell/write their loved ones about N4M and this group and to spread the word...My son's recruiter didn't even know much of anything about it....acted like it was an inferior source for information....I honestly knew more than he did about a lot of things and one day left him a 4 page printout of info I got from N4M (per his request) with answers to questions he couldn't tell me! There is nothing like a mom on a mission though, is there? Same for wives and girlfriends :)
FTLW: I don't know when you ever even have time to sleep! You set the bar very high for the rest of us N4Moms veterans! Keep up the great work!
Ahh, found it on another Group..that's how it happened...I just copied it over...poop.
