~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".
The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

Zman's mom how do I get there from facebook to get the information? Sorry I am so stressed right now I can't even think.
Of all days Iost my post office key and did not get to get the Christmas Adopt-A-Sailor package today like he said when the phone call came today. Does anyone what he will do if I am unable to come Christmas Day? I feel so bad that I might not get to change my plane ticket. Any information regarding the adopt a sailor would be appreciated :(
If you click on Groups at the top of this page, then go to Great Lakes A School Q & A, then click on Standown at Christmas, then go to page 3 the CO at Great Lakes A school discusses standown at Christmas for both PIR groups - 12/21/12 and 12/28/12. This is only for Great Lakes A school.
Seems like ship 03 got to make calls today :) It's nice to get some updates, even though my SR isn't on the same ship. Hopefully the other ships get a chance to call too!
Got a call from my son today around 5:00. He was so hoarse he could hardly talk (although I really think he was a little choked up as he was better when he talked to his Dad). It was soooooo good to hear his voice. He has been sick also. Said most of his div (Ship 03/Div039) had been sick and he was actually better than he was last week. Said the Div was doing good. He is 2nd stick for graduation and will be center and up front - can't wait to see him. I told him to please ask around and find out if anyone would not have family there for graduation that I would be happy to take them to dinner with us. I told him I had his flight back on Sat. and he said yes, he knew that but just had to check in with his Petty Officer before he could leave.
It would be awesome to be able to there for Christmas and stay through PIR. I know that will be too hard for some families because of large families and the expense of taking everyone there for Christmas but hopefully those of you who can do this can adopt an extra Sailor of a family who cannot be there for Christmas. How exciting :)
