~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hang in there Nika89xo, I know how extremely hard this is. But, I am sure he is writing you or at least he will be as soon as he is allowed to. Some RDC's are a little harder than others and it takes longer for those letters to come in. The important thing is to keep believing in him and the love you have for each other, keep the letters positive and let him know how excited you are to see him again. I know it is hard to remain upbeat and positive when you are getting any letters yet but you will be glad who did it when those letters begin to roll in :) I have you in my thoughts and prayers.
@Brenda - I'm happy for you that you finally got a letter! My boyfriend is in the same ship and division as your daughter. Males and females don't interact much but they are definitely training together.
@Nika - Write him. Send him envelopes and stamps with your next letter just in case he didn't buy any when he went to NEX. I know it's hard, but don't get too upset because you don't know what his situation is. Keep your head up girl, if your man left loving you, he's still loving you now.
I got a letter finally, I'm so excited my daughter is in ship 11 Div 044 she said they are doing good. She said she has lost weight , she was disappointed she missed her running time by 8 seconds, but will try her hardest next time. She is homesick and asked for pictures and prayers for stregnth. She is looking forward to seeing us at graduation. I so can't wait for this , but the letter made my day just hearing from her.
rayner, I am sorry, I haven't slept lol so I'm a little foggy and don't know what pic you are talking about lol :) I went to your page and it is set to private so anyone wanting to look at your page will have to be your friend first. Sorry if I sound like I have totally lost it. Lack of sleep does that to me haha.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving and had lots of great homemade goodies. I cooked for two days, shopped all night, came home slept one hour in the past 32. Feeling a little like I was dropped off at boot camp, with lots of strangers everywhere I looked and people yelling and others trying to sleep standing up. It was a little crazy and definitely was not pretty lol. I miss Black Friday the way it used to be :(
Does anyone know about leave for the SR who aren't going to A school in GL? Or how we can find out?
Hi everyone! My son is Ship13 Div.41. Today I received a letter. He said it's been great and the other recruits are cool! A lot of folding and ironing. He just can't wait to be able to do normal things again.Like make phone calls and not iron underwear!.He said he might be able to call this Sunday the 25th.
lala I have uploaded the picture to MyAlbum. how do I make it so evertyone can see? Or is there another place on this site that I can post them?
Penndair: I'm so very sorry....I can only imagine that your heart is very broken, but happy that your son feels happy about this. I hope that gives your heart some peace....because it is even more heartbreaking when the SR's heart is broken as well. Maybe once you can get the whole story from your son, it will make it a little easier.
Please thank your son for us for being willing to serve his country....that decision in itself is quite honorable. Blessings to him when taking the next step in his future!
Good Morning All! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
Is the Holiday leave some are referring to just for the Great Lakes A school sailors? My son is going to Pensacola for A school.
