N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Weather Widget is interactive. Click the green dot on the top bar and drag it along the to change the time. Click LIVE to go back to current time. Click on the days to change to that day or expand out to six days.

This is the GROUP for all the divisions that will be having PIR on the 28th. Division 44 is one of them. We like to keep "the TG" in one place on here so there is less group hopping. What we will be doing is forming Divison Discussions within this PIR group in the Discussion Forum Area as soon as we find out how many divisions we have. The Discussion Forum will be just above the Comment Wall Reply Box.
We usually have about 7-8 PIR GROUPS running at one time, which means 80+Divisions. There would be too many groups! LOL
Please do not create a separate division group :-)
Right now I see Divisions 39-44, 906?
Any others?

I am posting on both fb and here. I feel more secure here than on fb.
We got our letter with PIR date yesterday after 14 days , no letter yet from him so hopefully soon. I would like to know how he is adapting on 6 hours of sleep. Hugs to all will b back on after work.

Sharona, I believe we moms are great at searching out that info and I know I am on a bunch of facebook groups and this site and post on both places every day. I feel like the robot from that old movie Short Circut "I need more input" lol. It is very possible to do both facebook and this site. We just hate to see anyone leave this group and not come come back. So we are very happy that you all see the importance of doing both and being here to support those who do not do facebook.

For those who do have a facebook account, they were in the news again yesterday and have some people very creeped out and I know some have deleted their pages altogether. Did you know that if you post on facebook that you are in a relation ship that there is a "page" about your relationship? Go to your facebook page and click on home first then in the top bar on your page that shows what site you are on and add   /us to the normal ulr in that address bar   www.facebook.com and it will show your relationship page. I think it is kind of cool but it also make me wonder what else is on that site that we don't know about!!!!

Kimberly - I am very happy for you!!  I'm so glad that someone got a call!  Thanks for the information.

Comment by Kimberley on November 15, 2012 at 10:10am

I'm still shaking with the excitement about the call.  He asked about getting more information on how to get the Adopt a Sailor thing going because he feels he will definitly be eligible.  Will he be given that info for sure to forward on to us?

Hey Everyone,

Just got a quick call from my son Roger (Austin) for security clearance info.  Said they have gotten mail and he wrote Sunday.  Said we should receive his letter today!  Said they can only write on Sundays. Good news for all.  He said he should be able to call in a week or so and that it would be for a long visit.

Comment by micsothermom on November 15, 2012 at 9:56am

(Ship 02 Div 907) Good morning everyone!  I was wondering if anyone has any information regarding the Adopt a Sailor for Christmas.  Are there forms to fill out?  Or do the recruits request ot go.  I'm in Illinois and would love to have him home for Christmas if at all possible.  Just looking where to go and what to do.  Thanks.
