i got a hand writtn letter from my son last Thursday, hope i get home tonight and ther is one in the mail box...
nothing here yet...this week???
lfgr7 - Nothing for me except the form letter yet either. HOWEVER, one mom who has a son in Ship 09 Div 013 got a phone call from her son because he needed some info for his clearance, and he told her they were allowed to write letters this past Sunday 10/10 so I'm hoping we'll get one soon! For other divisions....I know each set of RDC's and divisions does things a little different than another RDC /division, so one group may be allowed to write letter sooner or later than another division
I got my form letter last Friday, the 15th. So far that's all.
hi all, we got her first letter to us today, wed. the 20th. i don't think she has received any of ours to her though. she is in div013 ship 09 and graduates the 3rd of dec. and then goes to os school. granny713
I haven't received a letter yet. It shouldn't take more than 4 days to get to us in AZ. I mailed my parents my sons address last Monday (NJ) and they received it Thursday! So, that's what I'm going by. Hopefully he wrote last Sunday and I will get something tomorrow... if not, I'll have to look for it on Wednesday or Thursday... wish me luck!

Good luck to all of you too. Please post when you have received letters!
(ship09 div010) my son called me today and says he will be home 2 weeks for Christmas. he says he is glad he is has only 4 weeks left. He had bought himself a phone card. He sounded good. I have also gotten a letter from him recently on the 24th. His hand-writing was more legible like he normally writes this time ..unlike the first poorly written 2 lines he wrote in his form letter. He was tired when he wrote the first comments. I have yet to receive the box with his clothes. I am more content now having been blessed to hear his voice today. I know he still has a lot to go thru before the 8 weeks are up. He says that they love to get letters..the more the better.
Has anyone with a loved one on ship 2 div 903 gotten any letters other than the form letter?
Just curious....
Thanks
Hi JAB's Mom,

My son is on Ship 2, Div 903, and no, we haven't heard from him either. It's driving us absolutely nuts!!!!! We've written him every day, and I know his friends and other family members have bombarded him with letters, so I figured we would have heard from him by now. One of the other moms suggested that perhaps the division got into trouble and their writing privileges were revoked. . .I hope not!!! I also heard that the recruits are often allowed to call home around week 4. Maybe? Perhaps we'll hear from them soon. I sure hope so!!!
Ship 09 Div 16; I was expecting a leter today and nothing, I hope we all get it this week....Theres nothing we can do!! just wait and wait... I just hope tey are doing OK. We all want to hear from them.
Got a 2nd letter today...was very excited to hear from him. He is also writing so much more legible! I am hoping he is able to get my letters by now.
My question is, How many times can we check the mailbox before neighbors report us for insanity! lol!!!
Hi everyone I got my letter on Wed. the 27th. Matt said it was the first time he had the chance to write. He also wrote his little brother one. He sounds so different. Matt said that it is much harder then he thought in fact he said it is Hell right now! He said he has made some great friends and they really rely on each other. He said he has no regrets and is glad it is half way over. As of his letter he hasn't gotten any of mine and I have sent many so hopefully he will get them this week. He did get to go to church for the first time this past Sunday. So sounds like all is well as it can be.
