Collin's grandmother actually had a possible heart attack which pushed a clot into the brain then had the stroke. She is not able to talk and her hands don't work well. She does seem to understand and be able to read. Thanks for the prayers. We can't afford a trip to Michigan right now and then another trip for PIR. Add our finances to your prayers. Thanks!!!

Lynne - my son is in division 013 that you saw marching! YAY for division 013 looking so good! Thanks for sharing.

Tammy - thanks for the music. Great Job!

CJ's mom - prayers to your MIL and all of your family.

Dawn, I wonder why Johnny didn't get to call yesterday. I got a call from Brandon and he said the whole division got to call because they all passed their PFAs or something like that. I got to talk to him for like 30 minutes. It was soooo nice!

I can't believe it's only 25 more days!!

Thanks RedChaos (love the name!). Part of my problem is that Tuesday is my birthday and in Nate 24 years, he has either been with me or at the least called me. I'm really hoping that he gets a call this week. Next year will be easier, cause Nate will have better communication abilities. Fortunately, as an only child, he knows that these things mean a lot to me.

NatesMom: I can totally relate to putting on the brave face, unfortunately sometimes it is harder than others...I think my friends/family understand, and when I read his letters to them, they smile indulgently...but it helps make it all better for me. I can't help it...Even tho I know I raised my boys to be men...it is still hard to wrap my brain around this whole thing. God bless us all.

diannep: Thanks for the heads up with Anit M's discussion. It really does put things in perspective doesn't it?

Ladies, be sure to check out Anti M's discussion on the 12/17 group, called "Your Sailor" posted at the top of their page (hit "view all" if you can't see it on their page). It has a wealth of knowledge in it about what your recruit is going through, changes, what to expect, and understanding ways they have changed. You don't have to join the group to view the discussion. She was raised in a Navy family, was Navy herself, married a Navy guy (retired now), and has an active duty nephew. So immense knowledge! Check it out!

Wow I haven't been on here for such a long time. I cannot believe that it's less than a month to go before graduation. I've received two letters from Nate and one call. He sounded good. With Nate being an only child it's been harder than I thought it would be not being able to contact Nate anytime I want. I was focusing on him finally being on the right path, I pushed my loneliness for him aside. I cannot wait for him to get to A School where he can have his cell phone and lap top. According to his last letter, Nate will be able to come home on Dec 17th. It will be so good to see him. OK, I'm going to start crying again if I don't stop. I just miss him so much and keeping a brave face is getting exhausting. I know that you other moms understand how this mom feels.
