Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

She is normally not an emotional girl so I was shocked when I heard her cry. She said in her letter she knows that the RDC are doing their job and that they really do care and knows why they have to do it.

I am having trouble with that ride. I lean on the ladies who have done it and think positevly. Sounds like the Navy has him just where they want him at that point. Hang in there...the next call/letter HAS to be better!

Comment by Linda (navynucmom) on November 3, 2010 at 7:35pm: I received a letter today from my son and it's the first letter that really made me cry. He said at first he was just missing me and his GF, now he misses his dad and grandma, he misses cooking for me, and wishes we lived closer so we could adopt him at Thanksgiving. I am so upset, I am thinking about flying up there Wed night and flying back on Friday. I just haven't gotten any paperwork yet, so how do I know he can be adopted.
