...or, Stacey...if there is a way someone else could do your afternoon route that day so you could wait for the call (maybe???), that would be even better! Cell phone glued to you for sure that day!

Stacey: If later would be better for your call when your route is done, he may be able to do that. Just give him the times to work with (make sure you put the time in GL time...not sure you are on the same time). When his group is calling, he may be able to let others go ahead of him...This is such a special call...would hate for you to miss it!

I drive a school bus and I'm so worried he will call during route time!

It doesn't look like anyone from Ship 9 Div 12 has received a telephone call yet? I am still anxiously waiting. I am so very happy for those who have been able to talk to their loved ones. My husband and I are going to another state tomorrow to visit family and I am so nervous that our son will be calling while we are in the air. We have a 3 hour flight. I decided that I am going to change the voicemail message on my cell phone to let our son know that we are in the air and, assuming he will be unable to call us back later, to make sure that he will leave a message so that I can hear his voice and be able replay it whenever I need to hear his voice. I am just going to be devastaed if i miss his call.

I got my phone call to today from my Matt, asked him if he was glad he did this and he started crying "I miss you mom and i wish i would have never donr this" I held back my tears thinking it would make it worse for him,, talked to him for a while got him calmed done... he did say he loves it, I think if they didn't cry a little, I would think sometthing was wrong.. Tammy he knows your son, I am also looking for a mom with a son named Michael from New Hamshire... any takers? he said he loves his RDC's they are very supportive. and he is a leader...with CJ yea . he also said he was in charge of the laundry.. for ship cleaning group,,, what ever that is... He also told me to quit sending him newspaper clippings about what is goinng on in out home town,,,the boys just want sport clippings. he makes me laugh so much... he will be fine I told him to lean one the other guys in his div.. they all are missing home be strong for each other,, cant remember what else, if i do i will post it... then came home and there was a letter in the mail box and he made me laugh even more, told me in one sentence I ask to many questions and then said he was going to go because he ran out of thing to write about..lol , so i wrote him tonight and told him to answer the questions in my letter and he wont run out of things to write about,,,, nice talking to you cj mom hang in there ladies,,its going fast well make it i promise...

CJ's Mom - hang tough Mom he will get through this and will be so glad he did.

CJ's Mom: Ditto what all of this ladies have said. Remember, they are still early in this PIR group...lots of tough stuff going on. It does get so much better! This is the breaking down period....so that they can build back up into sailors (but he will always be your little boy, don't worry!). Hang in there...glad you vented on here...we are here to support each other....and Jessica and I are here to tell you....it gets so much better! We have both had "sailor sons" now for getting close to a year....it is a good thing! So cling to that, ok? Just keep encouraging him....assuring him of how proud you are of him....and how great it will be to see him on PIR day...he'll make it! Prayers for all of you!

Thanks you all for your info - makes me feel a little better - what is weird is his phone call didn't sound like he wanted to come home

Tammy: He'll do fine...it is hard when our kids have these medical procedures and we aren't there! He is in good company...so many have this....try not to cry...it gets better as the days and weeks go along!
