Dodie: He hasn't been setback yet, has he? If they move him to Ship 6, he will call you. I agree with you holding off on the plans for a week or so to see what happens with his knee. Poor guy...let's hope it is just a slight twist or sprain that will heal now with the rest he is getting.

Aww, Dodie, I'm sorry to hear that. I've been especially excited about meeting other moms who have sons/daughters in ship 02, div. 903 (especially sons named Matt!) At least you got a letter. I'm going to be in a rush to get home from work tonight.

Hi all, I received my son's first real letter today. I was glad to have finally received one. Unfortunately, he injured his knee and has been on LLD (limited light duty) so he wrote NOT to make plans for PIR 12/3 yet because of a possible 1-2 wk setback in training...

Thanks labmom. I guess I'm better off than the rest of you as I did get to talk to him when he was in the ER during week two. In his first letter he said he was doing ok but I want to hear the tone of his voice to know he is ok. ;-)

I wonder how many dad's are in bc? My son mentioned that there was one that he knew of. I was hoping today was letter day. No letter though. My 13 year old son is really missing his big brother. I wish he could go with us to PIR but it's just not in the plans (budget).

Hang in there ladies...the time will come!

Lukes mom, he left 10/5 & his form letter was postmarked was 10/12... He also stated in his form letter that they were in a push division, so his division probably filled later than others so they are "push" to process & learn all of the critical Navy elements in a little shorter time frame than other recruits graduating the same day.

Mrs. Apron Strings, I LOVE your screen name! It's perfect. I feel the same way. I'm glad to see that other div. 903 moms haven't heard anything yet. "No news is good news" has kind of become my mantra these last few days. We're getting so excited about maybe getting a letter, think how that first phone call will hit us!

Mrs. Apron Strings, Hang in there. I have found the forums to be a life jacket (pun intended...lol) for me since my son left. I have received his "kid in the box" and the form letter, but no "real letter" yet. He was there almost a week before their division filled up, so I received his form letter later than other momsw/the same PIR. I figure the probably were able to start their letter writing this past Sunday, so I hope all div 903 moms/loved ones receive that letter this week.

Hi everyone. I'm sinking here (pun intended). I've tried to post a note on here twice and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong (I'm new the forum thing). I am usually a strong person but have been an emotional wreck since our son left (ship 02, Div 903) on 10/5. Haven't heard from him other than the initial division/graduation information and am not handling the lack of contact well. I read many of your posts and know that you will all be a life-line for me. . .I need you! :) Has anyone else heard from their sons/daughters?
