Allie, I am so sorry you are having such a hard time. Make some friends here. It helps to be able to relate to others who are feeling the same way. Your friends just don't understand what you are going through, but they are still your friends. Hang in there. My son is ship 9 div 013. Hopefully, we'll see you are PIR with that little boy! You will make lots of friends here!!!

Allie it is tough to be along with a young one. Maybe you could look for a mops program in your town. That is a mother of preschoolers. This would be a good place to find a support system to help who also have little ones. Keep the faith and know we only have about 1 1/2 months.

Hey everyone. Im having a tough couple days. Im a young navy wife and our son will be one on Thursday. Im having a party for him but just feel bad my husband wont be here for it. Then I start thinking about all the other things he may miss. Its hard being home with the baby with just me. I live close to my parents so it helps. But lately Ive been feeling so discounted from my friends. All they want to do is go out to clubs and dont understand that Im not in the mood. ughhh. They just dont get what im going through. sorrry Im just really missing my husband. I cannot wait for dec 3rd!

I'm hoping for a Thurs. letter myself (2nd). Ah the waiting. I was just telling a new mom (brand new that is) that the waiting has just begun. Waiting for the 1st tooth, 1st crawl, 1st walk, 1st day at school, etc. you all know what I mean. & it can lead to this - waiting for that phone call or 1st letter from BC. Heavy sigh. . .

My daughter had a call on her phone to tallahassee Fl after she talked to me for her I am here call on the 6th, so I assume she must have let someone else borrow it to make their call. Good to know they were already working together to help each other out from the moment they arrived.

10/29 has music.

Amy'sMom: Since they are herded up like cattle when they arrive at bc making the" I'm here" call, it is very possible that whatever cell phone she borrowed did not even belong to someone who would be in her division. So nice of them to share like that. Probably the lines for the pay phones were long and someone kindly offered their phone. It should always show up as 847 area code when they call from pay phones or administrative phones in GL.

Along those lines.....sandy had one who lent his phone too. So kind!

Well my son's cell phone bill came today and I decided I wanted to see who he was communicating with at the airport waiting on the 7th into the late night for the bus. Listed on the bill after his call from GL at12 :30 was 2 calls to NY (we live in IA) my first thought was who does he know in NY - then it hit me - he had made a friend and loaned his phone to another recruit to make their call home. So happy to know he did that and they can hang in there together. What a great opportunity all these recruits have in front of them. Praying for a letter this week for all of us. I Hope it was one of my N4M's recruit that he loaned the phone to!!!
