Thanks jaws. I would appreciate getting it how ever it works for you. Sailor'sGirl, my son said that someone got into trouble right after PIR ended, as he said, "for sucking face." It was amazing walking around with Nate. An experienced (young) sailor came up to him congratulating and welcoming him "aboard" while we were walking in the the mall. One of my sisters favorite thing was the "monkey grooming" as she put it -- after they removed their coats and everyone was helping each other get the fuzzies off from the scarfs. :)

Just wanted to drop a note in the event Caleb's Mom (California) checks in. He said you are on this site as well. Your son spent the day with us on Saturday. He is an awesome young man/sailor! He is good friends with my daughter and she said his family would not be able to make it to PIR. I told her he could spend the entire weekend with us. She said he was spending Friday with another friend's family and Sunday with another and some friends so we had the pleasure of his company on Saturday! We took him into the city with us on the train and we had lunch together and though we walked a bit and it was snowing, we had a fun time. He was so polite and funny. Anyway, I know he missed you and his father and girlfriend but wanted to let you know he was well taken care of for the weekend by several families!

Hi Ladies!! We just got home late last night from Chicago. We had only 8 hours with our son, but enjoyed every second of it !! He is now in Mississippi, and is actually room mates with someone from our town ( what a small world ). He will be home for 7 days mid Dec for Christmas!!!! PIR was amazing !! We had awesome seats.. once the door opened, I lost it!!!! This was such an emotional experience, and I would not have been able to get thru it without all your support !!! Best wishes to our new Sailors !!!!

There is a code of conduct...he can hug you but it has to be short and sweet and then you have to be on his left side and you can't hang on him and play kissy face in public...and he always has to have his right hand free to salute....I will try to post the code of conduct for you in here.

It was wonderful seeing my son, even though so brief. PIR 12/3/10 was amazing, and when the Sailors came in, I teared up. The few hours we had was perfect. It was hard taking him back to base Friday evening, but was able to spend a couple more hours at the airport early Sat morning before saying good bye again. I am so proud of all our Sailors. They did it! I enjoyed being at the meet and greet as well, and send a special thanks to all that worked hard to put it together. We got home Sat night after a long all day drive, My son got to A school safe and sound, So, now I wait and hopefully find out tomarrow if I see him at Christmas. I so hope he can come home.

@Lou2 thanks for the concern!!! i am so excited for him to come home!!! and i was joking to him that "me next in the boot camp" and he said no lol i really want to join the navy too and he told me if i join there's no way for us to be together... also my sailor told me there's half of those almost 900 sailors that dont have anybody with them that time... so he kind of enjoy it too... hanging out with other sailors like him... also he told me that he doesn't want to see me in the airport because he cant hug me in public places is that true?????
