What a wonderful weekend with our new sailor, it ended entirely too quickly. Dropped him back on base a bit ago, thinking that it may have been harder saying goodbye this time then when he left for BC.

Just got home from the weekend with our new sailor. Graduation was great and it was nice to see his smiling face. However, we were a little upset that they sat us (Div 013) in the wrong section, so we could not see him during the ceremony because we were so far away...but I refused to let that spoil our day. He flew out to Charleston SC for A School last night at 7p Chicago time, so we got to spend the whole day at the airport with him. Would not have missed it for the world! Bravo Zulu to all divisions who graduated on 12/3/10!!!

Lou2 - I pretty sure you can still order a DVD. Call 847-578-6289.
Sailorsgirl- It just totally broke my heart knowing that there were Sailors without anyone there. I wanted to rent a us and take them all. So glad you will be able to spend time with him soon!
We had to leave Saturday evening and did not get to spend Sunday with Liz. It was SOO hard leaving her!!! :( She was going to spend the day with some other Sailors though so I am happy for that!

I love my Sailor. However, how on earth would he think that I would NOT want a dvd of graduation?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Does anyone know how I can get one? I do not care how much it costs or how I get it. I JUST NEED IT :-)

We didn't make it to meet and greet because of flights but it was wonderful meeting all the parents at PIR. I can't even begin to put into words what an experience it was. What really made me proud was when other sailors came up to us and told us how much he had helped them during boot. I also was grateful for the USO at Midway and all the folks who came up to my son and shook his hand thanking him for his service. Putting my navy liscense plate holders on in the cold. Good luck moms..My son and 17 others arrived after 10 hours in Groton for sub school..all safe and sound and happy to have electronics

@sailor'sgirl, that is too bad about the confusion over your sailor's status. My son was grad & go, so we spent just a few precious hours with him right after PIR that we wouldn't have missed for the world! The next couple of weeks will go by fast and you will get to enjoy him for the holidays - hang in there!

We too were very proud to be at PIR this past Friday. What fantastic event! Didn't meet anyone at M&G as we came in late, but the Ramada was very accommodating. Of course spending the day with our grad & go Sailor meant the world to us and having the facilities at the hotel meant a lot to her. And seeing all the Sailors at the airport today just about brought me to tears. I wanted to go up to each one and tell them how proud I am of them all. It's a day I will never forget as long as I live. Congratulations to all of our Sailors! Hooyah! Bravo Zulu PIR 12.3.10!
