FTLW: Seems that this PIR group and the 01/09 group would be the ones that could be adopted out for Christmas. Not sure how they are going to handle BattleStations Christmas week for this group...and with a Wed graduation the next week. They wouldn't go on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day ...so thinking that just maybe, BattleStations for this group may start on that Tues night, a week before PIR! Just thinking outloud here.
By the way, everyone, BattleStations is their final test....once the Discussion Forum is opened at the top of the page, I will post a discussion group explaining it.
There is no Liberty or Leave while in Boot Camp.
BUT there is something that is provided for the two Senior most TG's at Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is the Adopt-A-Sailor Program.
The two Senior most TG's at the time of the actual Holiday will be allowed to be adopted out by immediate Family for Christmas Day. No overnight. The Recruit will send home the Adopt-A-Sailor Form to be filled out and faxed back to RTC (the Family keeps the original to bring with them on Christmas day). The Form has to be sent back, they won't allow you to take your Recruit without it...no surprise adoptions.
So we will see if your is one of the two TG's selected. :-)
Yup, ALL CAPS Navy Block in pencil right? Your FORM LETTER can come that way.
My sons personal letters home were in pen and handwritten.
We do not encourage GROUPS for the individual DIVISIONS. The reason is that you are scattered all over the site and it makes it more difficult to get/post info. There are 6-8 TG's at a time at RTC..that's 60-80+ Divisions. Way to many for individual Division Groups.
Rather, we make a GROUP for the TG/PIR date and then what we will do (as soon as it has been confirmed by RTC on their website) is make Individual DIVISION DISCUSSIONS in the DISCUSSION FORUM here on this PIR GROUP homepage. That way you can connect as a group on the Main wall here and also in your DIVISION DISCUSSIONS.
You cannot see the DISCUSSION FORUM right now...it will be opened when ellen0502 makes the Division Discussions.
Here is a link to a PIR GROUP that is all set up so you can compare (it will open into another tab on your computer so you can just switch back and forth):
PIR 11/26/2014 TG 03 - 11 Divisions (019-026, 801-802 and 903)
Hello, I am new to the group also. My son is on ship 2, Div. 908! Can't wait to see the boys. Hope all is well. I didn't get a letter but I have sent many. Hopefully I will get one soon from my son. Nice to meet you? Do you think they will get liberty over the holidays? WE are staying over till Friday.
Hi...new to the group. My son is Ship 02, div. 908, PIR 12/31/14. Just got my first handwritten letter today:). The Navy must be teaching handwriting, cause it's the first legible thing he's written in a long time. Actually, thought he'd forgotten how to write, what with all the texting.....
I agree with Pennyrh, the little New Year's graphics ellen0502 put on here makes it so festive scrolling on down to the Comment Wall!! Cute New Year's baby too!!
Hello All!
