Maryellen, I am bursting with happiness for you! If she's going to battlestations it sure sounds like everyone passes so you'll only need that call, such as the rest of us did whose children already went thru it, to confirm that she passed (it's only a confirmation-you know she'll be fine and pass now).

What a goof I am.........I forgot to give you the link to watch the Battlestations video. It is www.edwardstechnologies.com/military-technology.asp

Cathie V. and others....here's the battlestations video that shows what our sailors did and are about to do (incase any of you haven't seen it). A mom passed this along from some site (I can't remember where) but it shows the action.

Susan and Barb-I, too agree. I feel bad that your sailors are butted right up against PIR like that but that IS the military life so I've heard-hurry up and wait. I feel very lucky that our son is now all finished and only has cleaning to do from today-Thurs. His division, he told us yesterday, was the senior division-only meaning they got there 1 week before the rest of the recruits. Please know that as we all prayed for our sailors to graduate the prayers have shifted from thank yous for our new sailors and blessings for yours to pass. I'm sure all will be fine but know it must be nerve wracking. I hope they go early and surprise you all.

So this blog is a buzzing. Now...for the next groups. Congratulations to all the new sailors and parents, etc. and best wishes to those who go next week. Our sons division was the 'senior division' he said because they got there Dec. 3rd so they are now being seperated in different quarters because they can't be with recruits. If he'd gone 1 day earlier, he said, he'd be in PIR today. He was so happy on the phone-we got a nice long phone call (well we got 2 because he had to step away for a minute).

Cathie-absolutely awesome! Congrats! We're still awaiting our sons call (div 81) but he was sure he'd be okay we just want that call. Now it's time to go get our girls soon and we'll see who wins out going to pick them up.

Sandra-I'm so sorry about your sons illness. That has had to be extra hard on him. I would've thought they'd medicate them for speedy recovery or something. Our son's had a cold since he left home but says he's been okay doing all and hasn't been real sick.

Joanne-thanks for solving that mystery for us on the return address.

Now-can you solve the next mystery as to why none of us are hearing from our sailors? Haha-don't you wished you had those powers.

Maryellen, please don't fret yet (wow-I know that's hard). I think they will do all they possibly can to push her to get her where she needs to be to graduate. I think they want to probably move them in move them out and don't want to keep anybody behind.

We're still waiting waiting on our son's call.

Here's something my husband and I noticed and did any of the rest of you...Justin's letters that we started receiving 1/5/09 and beyond on the return address the recruit training command symbol he has taken a black marker and blacked out. Up until that point he hadn't. Perhaps that has something to do with security clearance or something? Anybody have any insight on that and/or have noticed that?

Maryellen, I am so very sorry about your loss. If it were me, I would keep that news until after PIR (if you can manage to). Again, that is only if it were me. You probably want everything to be good news and to have a happy time with her. There isn't anything she can do, being away, anyways. That way you'll be there to give her the embrace that she'll need when you tell her. I guess none of us got our calls today either. Erghhhh.
