Plus here's a thought... they just don't have the space to fail entire divisions. They want them to pass so they can get the next group in. My son said there's a possibility that even for A school he may either be held up in Great Lakes or, perhaps, get to come home. They just have so many enlistees right now that they hustle in and hustle out. That, too, may explain why our son is graduating about 1 month earlier than what the recruiter told us to expect.

Carolanne, I don't know for sure... however I don't think that they fail an entire group at all. The reason I say that is because a mom that I met at our local get together Saturday told me her son was held back a week because they accused him of sleeping. She said he had to go in with an all new group of guys for that week to be repeated and then PIR the following Friday. That indicates to me that it's not at all an all pass or all fail situation (I wouldn't think they'd be that brutal!). However, our sons letter that we got this week said that if the whole division doesn't do well then they may not get to make a telephone call. He said the opposite on Friday when he called us, then he said to expect his phone call to confirm all plans sometime between the 20th-22nd. Things always change but this is just how I see it. I'm sure we'll all be buzzing on this blog about how we got our calls tomorrow. Everybody please post it here to help the others have hope that are still waiting. Heavy prayers for all happening tonight.

Joanne and Jaquie, this may answer your question about always getting that call. I'd mentioned it earlier but there's always so much on here (thank goodness) that you may have missed it. Here it is for you....We got a letter from Justin today (exstatic about that since we'd been told he'd be too busy to write us any more) and it said "the day after battlestations I will be getting a phone call as long as my whole division does well." The sound of that made me think there's a possibility that if he does well but others don't-no call and Lord I hope that's not at all the case. Perhaps the RDC's say that to the recruits to grab their attention to make them all, each and every one, do well. You know what is said over and over again is that things change -constantly. So we just won't know until and if we get that call.

Chris-one of the moms I met Saturday, her son was held back a week from PIR because he was accused of sleeping (he said he had his head down). However, there's nothing we can do now but pray for them all. We got a letter from Justin today (exstatic about that since we'd been told he'd be too busy to write us any more) and it said "the day after battlestations I will be getting a phone call as long as my whole division does well." Maryellen, best wishes for a safe trip up to IL. Yes, ladies, I too am afraid to leave the house. Justin said, when he called us the 16th, to expect his call anytime from the 20th-22nd (he's div 81 ship 13). That's the call you really really don't want to miss. I bought an extra news paper today for him knowing that the letter we got from him today said he didn't think they'd get to see the inauguration and I'll buy a paper for him tomorrow too. I figure he can (maybe) read them on the plane ride to PNS A school. Good luck and Godspeed to all of our sons/daughters/etc. to make it through Battlestations wonderfully this week.

Hi Chris-Justin said that in his division (Div 81 ship 13) there are 83. Now I'm not sure about if that's representative of how many are in each division though. His flight was right on time. December 3rd is when he arrived. With what the recruiter had advised us we expected him to graduate the middle to end of February so when when got the invitation and he told us Jan. 30th we were delighted. I cannot sleep, nor get away from this computer (N4M) due to the excitement of how close it all is coming. It's a sickness I tell ya-smiles (my family is starting to poke fun at me for being so anxious of seeing what emails I've gotten regarding N4M and updates).

Carol, I checked and checked and ACE is the cheapest by far. They were on that flyer that was sent in the PIR packet. We're getting a Cobalt for $17.95 day (you'd have to check the price for their large cars). All the others were $40-$100 per day. You can either call 1-800-256-9422 or go to www.acerentacar.com/gf. Be sure to refer to promo code GF. It was far cheaper to rent a car than to use the airport express at $14pp-plus we wanted a car anyways. Good luck.

Joanne-Justin has told us twice that he'll be calling once he knows he's passed battlestations-he said sometime between the 20th-22nd. So since our sons are in the same div and ship you should too, I would imagine. He said Friday, this week, they'll be all done with everything and then just spend the whole following week cleaning is all.
Connie-thanks for the info on the dreaded gas chamber. Justin told us about it but only said it was rough that he didn't get sick but others did.

Briana, please try not to fret. I had just on Friday made a comment to others who'd received calls from their children and long calls at that saying the same as you've said, that we'd not heard from Justin since Christmas day, and then we got our call. I'm sure that you'll receive a call this week as I think that is customary for them to check in with you the week before graduation to let you know that the plans are on and they are set to graduate-he had told us that almost from the beginning too.

Justin is in div 81 ship 13. On his call he said that this week is battlestations for his group then he'll call sometime between the 20-22nd to confirm PIR plans (hopefully he won't call during inauguration and hopefully they get to watch it themselves somehow). Then he said after that all they do is clean all the following week of graduation so we're hoping that will allow liberty Thursday to be with us. That would be nice but we won't count on it. In August my husbands daughter got to do that. We've learned that we must 'wing' everything when it comes to the military. I hope Eric can call you soon. Less than 2 weeks now ladies-can I hear a big "woohoo"!
