Still there. I just pulled the and checked. She's 1% ahead 46 to 45. I've never looked on N4M. Perhaps it can't be posted on N4M-not sure.

Okay, Beth, I voted for her. Sweet story for sure. I hope they win. The first time you let us know you only told us Stephanie's blog so we didn't know whom to vote for. This will now probably help her quite a lot.

Thanks Maryellen and Joanne. I did call Progressive (that's who we have for our personal as well as our business policies). Outrageous is all I can say. That 2nd post that I made (increase of $1315 for 6 months) was Progressive. That's about what he was paying with them before we dropped his car and him off our policy for him to head to the military. USAA was tons cheaper at $857 for his own policy (for anybody that may need to know about insurance) Yeah, he said he realized he can't have it until phase 3 for 3weeks-a month or so. Although the car would be nice, not only would it be a hassel to get it to him for only about 1 month but what if he gets in a wreck-heaven forbid. Maryellen-BOA didn't make me have POA for Justin's checking account and he has no credit card or student loans (too young for that stuff at age 18).

By the way for him to be insured back onto our policy-forget that. It's an increase of $1,315 for 6 months because he's 18. Clean record but it's that young man insane insurance prices.

Beth-I know, right? I agree 100%.

Hey all...I'll let you know but here's something to ponder...Justin is asking tomorrow because he thinks he can have his car in PNS. So I called USAA to ask a quote (since he's 18 he knows nothing about doing this sort of thing). They couldn't help me because we don't have power of attorney. I've asked my Central FL group (since there's moms in that that have deployed sailors and they are the 'experts') if we should get power of attorney. We never thought of that before now. It sounds like something we should all probably check into. I'm on Justin's checking account at BOA with him because it's still his student account so I can transfer money and stuff but this POA never occurred to me before now. I'll let you know. Makes you want to go hmmmm.

Hey everybody, just because I'm the curious sort....what is an MA and what is an ET? I only know what an IT (computers) is because that's what Justin's doing. Sounds like a big number went to Naval air station. This is kind of like schooling here in FL once they're done with elementary school the kids all go off to different middle schools due to zoning, well it's that way for middle school to high school too. That's the way our BC kids were-all split off in different directions it seems. Gail, thanks again for spearheading that meet n greet. It was nice to meet people. Wish all could've come but the ones that came we enjoyed. Sounds like our kids have $ burning a hole in their pockets! Justin bought a laptop on Saturday at the NEX. We have warmth in FL again, near 80. It's nice.

Thanks for the clarification, Alison. Our kids are all in different types of schooling now so I hadn't a clue. Justin's in IT (computer technology) in Pensacola. We're going up this weekend to see him again. 2nd time in 3 weekends. Can't wait. This should be a better visit this time since he has more lenient liberty than what he had on PIR weekend. I guess part of Justin's training, another mom whose son is 2 weeks ahead of our son, is that he'll be flown via helicopter out to a ship on a weekend to stay all weekend and study the computers on the ship. The helicopter has no doors-woah. But he'll probably think it's pretty cool.

Louise-what is OC spray? I haven't any clue...our son is in schooling for IT (computers) and it's probably something that he may not need to do. But I'm still curious all the same.

Maryellen-gosh I'm so sorry your daughter has been so sick. I'm sure she wants mommy! Congrats on the engagement for her. I hope all the bad stuff for you all has finally passed. I wish only good things to now come your way.

Hi DaLinda. Justin was grad n go and arrived Pensacola for IT (computer) A school about 10:30pm 1/30/09. We arrived about the same time (2 of us anyways). Since we fly free and must fly standby I and 1 daughter flew to PNS and my husband and other daughter flew into Mobile, AL 45 mins away. Long day got back to the hotel about 2:30am. Then Justin called us about 8:30am Saturday to come see him. Since he was on very restricted liberty we only got about 4 1/2 hrs total with him that weekend. We're going to drive up to PNS this Fri-Sun or Mon and take him his tv and xbox. Can't wait. He's got more lenient liberty now. Joanne's son, who was in Justin's division and was one of his buddies, is also at PNS only at a different base and she and her family are also going this weekend so we hope to meet them there since we missed them at PIR. He's been doing the orientation all last week and is to start his IT schooling this Weds. We'll see. I've heard of kids that've been there since Sept. and don't start school until March. 2 of his buddies that go to college in Gainesville are going over for a few days at spring break. That'll be fun for him. His roommate is a guy from his division in BC. Justin is hoping to go to Japan when the time comes. Good for him (heard they're very nice to American military) not so good for us. Those goodbyes are just so very hard I'm finding. I refrained pretty well last weekend saying goodbye. That is until we were out of the parking lot and then I lost it. I hope more from our group chime in every now and then. I feel closest to this group because of our special bonds of our sailors all going thru everything together. Remember those panick days of 'did they pass battlestations'?

Yes, Gail. I do agree. I think this will always be our most comfortable group to be in since we all started out together (sort of when you train at work along with other new people they become your closest friends). There has been so much sickness out there, I'm so sorry for the 'kids' (men, women-oh whatever). Luckily Justin hasn't gotten sick-just minor cold stuff.
