Happy Thanksgiving to all and I hope that some of you are enjoying your sailor at home and for the rest of us I hope we get to hear from them today. We all survived Christmas last year!

Hooray to the grad!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Chris is still at sea somewhere. I think. I haven't heard anything about his ship for a few days. I was hoping that his ship would be in port and he would call, but apparently it isn't to be. Either that or he's just being a brat and forgot that it's Thanksgiving.

Where is every one? Brian graduated his A school today. In the top of his class and now is E-3.

I FINALLY heard from Chris - he called before dawn this morning. He sounded very mature, the tone of his voice has changed, and the way he talks. What boot camp and A school didn't do, the fleet has finally done.

He said that he is sometimes helmsman (steers the ship) and more often paints the anchor chain, LOL. He's not too thrilled with either job and has decided to go for IT again. He's been hanging out with the ITs and may already have a sponsor among them. They told him that if he waits 18 months (from date of arrival) he can try for the rating again (he washed out the first time, with less than a day's worth of work to complete). By that time he should have matured even more, and things should go far more smoothly.

Scott, cutie dog! So far the official Navy photos are the only way I have been able to know he still exists. He hasn't contacted us since Sept. 9, when he reported to his ship. No calls, no emails, no mail, not even a text to let us know he's still alive. It it wasn't for the Navy's occasional photos of him I would think he fell off the LCAC on the way to his ship and the Navy never noticed he was missing. He's never gone this long without contacting me before. However, I'm sure they're keeping him very busy, and he's probably having the time of his life.

I'm sure he'll call when he gets back to Sasebo. They have free phones there, he knows where they are and that he doesn't have to pay for the call.

Hi all, Arwen is this the only way you find info on/from your son? I've been catching up on my reading here. Great pet pictures too!
