Ah. I'm not sure I will get my son(s) name(s) on my flag. I figure just the flag is enough. Also, it will be a while before Sean starts - if he gets the NROTC scholarship. If not, he may join the Navy to pay for college. We sure don't have money for it, and he'd rather serve for 4 years before college than try to work while going to college. When/if he joins, I will get a two-star flag and offer my one-star to another mom who doesn't have one.

I hope that is all that it is. She will be getting a full workup I guess when she gets home. She is a tiny little thing 5'1". Just say a prayer that they don't disqualify her permanently....Thanks again!

Sue, why did you get two flags? With two sons in the military you're supposed to be able to get one flag with two stars. Were they out of two-star flags?

Sandy, Chris had that problem when he first started training, getting light headed, and almost passed out. The first time he did it was in front of his recruiter, during his DEP test. It turned out he wasn't eating enough to support his new training regimen. Maybe your daughter didn't like the food so she wasn't eating enough?

Arwen as of right now we don't know if they will clear her to try agin in 6 or 12 months. She has the strength for all PT except running, she keeps passing out and has been in the hospital and on limited light duty. As soon as she went back to full duty and ran, it happened again. Her nickname is Tinkerbell in her Div and she was the PFC she was so proud of that too! I wish she was little again and I could kiss the boo boo and make it go away but I think this one is going to stick. Thanks for your support I appreciate it.

I'm so sorry Sandy. I dread the possibility of it happening to my son, and was dreading it happening to anyone else here too. I was really hoping we would escape the dreaded "I'm coming home" phone call among us moms at N4M.

Is it a medical issue that can be resolved so she can try again, or is it a permanent disqualification? Is there anything we can do to help?

So, has anyone here bought a service flag yet? I plan on getting one at PIR, if they have them. If not, I'll just have to buy a nice one online. I'll probably get a mini Navy flag to hang next to it.

Hello All! I finally got my phone call today!! I was so excited, unfortunately it was not the one I had hoped for. Sadly my recruit will be coming home within the next few weeks on a Medical Discharge. The dissappoinment in her voice was harder to bear than the sadness I felt the day I put her on the plane to leave. She is heartbroken and saddend to leave the many friends that she has made. My congratulations go out to all of your loved ones on the day of Graduation. The support found here has been a Godsend!! I am proud to have been a part of this family and prouder still of all our sons and daughters! GO NAVY!

Fonda Sue what do the flags look like? Is it the Navy flag?

Fonda Sue - I'm proud of your Josh of passing his Seals test!!! Does that mean that he is going into the Seals program or are there more hoops to jump through?

Lunch Dean? That either sounds like someone who either eats a lot, or tends to lecture people at meals. If it's eating a lot, it could be Chris, who has a hollow leg. He can eat 10,000 calories per day and still not gain weight.

My husband's nickname in the Navy was "Dolo" - Defender Of Left Overs. It would be funny if it turned out Chris had a food-related nickname too.
