This is the final test for your recruits. When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During the 12 hour overnight drill, they encounter every situation that they might face when deployed on a ship. It is a night of adrenaline and focus.
Up to 4 divisions can go at once, but sometimes only 2 or 3 go. Brother divisions go together. 800 and 900 divisions go randomly. They start with the lowest numbered divisions and move up. They can start on the Thursday night, a week before PIR. They skip Fri and Sat nights because of Captains Cup on Saturday (athletic competition between divisions...fun for them!). They can resume BattleStations Sun-Wed nights during PIR week. Something a Chief said about Battlestations:
150-300 SRs go at a time, 3-10 of them will fail and have to repeat it, the most important thing is TEAMWORK. If the SRs keep their mouths shut, listen, and work as a team, they should pass.
The brother divisions in this PIR group are:
63+64, 65+66, 67+68, 69+70, 71+72, 73+74
"I'm a Sailor" phone calls will start to come in the day they finish, usually starting around 2 pm GL time and going into the evening. They may need to complete PIR practice first so be patient. Some may have watch and won't call until the next day.
When you get a BattleStations date from your recruit, post it here and I will add it to the schedule.

diannep- Since Captains Cup competition is held the Saturday before Battlestations, according to the Navy Family Handbook, All those going to BS21 next week will compete this Saturday along with my daughters division (67). She confirmed this in her letter about her Division along with the Battlestations date.
HA! Hey, listen....I have been learning all of this stuff for almost a year now...and it gets so very confusing! I have to check myself many times since I'm on so many PIR groups and sometimes I get them mixed up! :-)
And...your daughter has many very important things on her mind! She is ALMOST A SAILOR....exciting, right? Just start picturing her in her uniform....rounding that PIR Hall....still gives me the goosebumps to remember that moment....I get so excited for you all! It is such a wonderful day! HOOYAH!
Thanks for your encouraging words!! As you always are positive and encouraging! I am very excited, as all of us are, She painted me a small picture of herself with her words, She loves the dress blues. She said they all look so womanly with the way they are fitted, they have an hour-glass shape. She said they look HOT!! ha ha. I chuckled for a while after reading that letter.
Get your Blue Candles ready for this week! BS start Feb 2 for this "group"! Good-luck recruits and God Bless!
